Seems you are going to blow out a lot of other amps in price to performance ratio. Will you also come up with a class d amplifier of your own?
@ThomasAndStereo9 ай бұрын
@@santabanta6988 I have been working on a class D amp with tubes but that is a project that will have to take a long time to finish. The problem with bringing this TS A75 to market is the performance is so good that it challenges directly my other pending projects. Meaning, if I bring a $2k class D amp to market, it must beat this TS A75 decisively and right now, I am having a hard time getting it to outperform this amp. If I bring a $1k class D amp to market, and if it is only 60% of this TS A75, then there is no point, might as well save up and get his amp. It only makes sense for me if I can get a $995 amp to market if it is 80% of this amp. If you ever listen to this amp, you will understand it is very hard, afterall this amp can rival $5k amp according to Loic. It is very hard to believe. Loic left this out of the video, he told me in terms of air, it is 90% of a $40k amp he once had. No one will believe that so it was left out of the video.

Looks interesting. I like that it's not neutral, neutral sucks the life out of the music. Price is real world (by audiophile standards) which is refreshing. As far as the video goes...I like its subjective nature. Objective reviews are OK but personally I want to know what the reviewer likes and would want in his own system. I have a short attention span when it comes to KZbin content. KZbinrs should make 2 versions; one with long intro, endless ramblings and comedy shtick and a condensed to-the-point one with just the facts for squirrel brains like me.
@hificave9 ай бұрын
I find, the risk with short hifi content, its impossible to capture all the variables and angles that define the result. For those who say: if the youtubers says this amp is that good why doesnt he have it in his reference system? Because many can differentiate performance to flavor. And flavor, is personal. I chose a flavor in my reference system, to max out what I value the most, but I am aware of what I am sacrificing to get that, and it gives me a point of reference when I analyze performance. Example, if I want warmth in the mids and crazy resolution and air, often, to get those at a normal price range, I might be sacrificing some bass slam. Or something else.. having it all, at a normal price range is very difficult. The result is not 1 component, its everything combined.

China HiFi helped me troubleshoot the problem and sent replacements within 2 weeks. I did a little tube rolling with inexpensive tubes: NOS Philips JAN 6SL7WGT (2) NOS GE 6SN7 GTB (2) NOS Philips JAN 5U4GB (2) LinLai 300B-T The pairs are all matched. They sound better than the stock tubes for sure. Not perfection for some people, but good enough for my 66 year old ears. I appreciate your honesty and enjoy your reviews. Separately it is difficult to take most any audio influencer of any type serious beyond solely their entertainment value when it appears that most are too afraid of consequences or possibly financially owned or manipulated to be genuinely honest with the audience or purchasing public regarding full comparative product performance and analysis. So many veiled salespeople in audio come across as paid for highly manipulative and deceitful used car salesmen which is simply disgraceful. It takes guts in this weak kneed world of yes men or women to stand for DECENCY and HONEST DISCLOSURE. Congratulations to Thomas on his new amplifier product launch and a very nice look to your video production.
@hificave9 ай бұрын
I agree, completely. I have realized over the years, that every time I didn't like a flavour, I had a few friends who did, and when I liked a sound flavour, I also had friends who didn't like it. I also see people disagree on the soundstage they are hearing.. so the first issue with saying this is good or this is bad, is that its subjective to each individual. Then when I factor in the synergy between the equipment there is another complex can of worms to explain. I am always honest. But honesty does not come at the cost of bashing other products. Friend asked me: If you find this amplifier THAT good, why don't you have it in your system now? I can differentiate quality and performance from the flavour I want. I can tell a quality bison steak from a bad bison steak. But even if I find the best cooked bison steak it doesn't mean I will order it over a beef steak all the time: flavour preferences. I recently took a risk, I had a subscriber who lived near me, ask me if I was comfortable having him and his wife come by and listen to my reference rig. After much hesitation, I accepted. They both were great people, and after a few hours of listening and discussing what they were hearing and feeling. They said: now we know what you consider good in terms of the things you value in sound. Now we understand your point of reference and we love it. It could have gone the other way. Maybe their tastes in sonic character would be very different from mine and would have realized, I was not a good reference for them in terms of review. Lastly, the world we live in now, is full of manipulation and agendas, but I also meet REALLY GREAT people in this hobby, both on the consumer end and on the production end and these great people, even if they make a product that is my choice of flavour, I respect and appreciate the quality they produce to earn a living and they do so with work that follows their values. There are good people left everywhere. Thanks for your comment. I don't often answer these to this extent, but I felt a genuine well thought out person behind your comment. Thank you.
