I live near Montreal and grew up in Montreal. We have snow dumps (vacant fields) where they cart the snow to, and the trucks dump it in rows, then huge snow blowers about twice the size of the one at 4:43 blow the snow up into mountains 50-60 feet high or more. they usually finish melting around July 1st!

Good job on this video...you just can't beat a Canadian when it comes to doing this stuff...

Canadians are experts at this snow removal, and Russians would probably be 2nd or 1st at it.. Depends

love Ontario and Quebec, only ones that remove snow like this, awsome
@glenndwyer2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, Steve, you're wrong ...I worked for the City of St.John's, Newfoundland for 17 years and it's identical to what we do...same Equipment, Bombardiers (Sidewalk Plows) on the sidewalks to push Snow over the curb onto the street for the Front End Loaders to make the Windrow for the Snowblowers. When the trucks are loaded the snow is dumped in the St.John's harbor or Atlantic ocean. St.John's averages more snow than any other place in Canada but a close 2nd are some Towns in Quebec.
@steveanderson4612 жыл бұрын
@@glenndwyer no, I am not wrong, I was talking about the largest cities which are in Ontario and Quebec.
@glenndwyer2 жыл бұрын
@@steveanderson461 Well ur right about larger Cities.I also worked for the City of Red Deer for a bit...and they have no clue about a Snow Removal procedure and why I left. They leave a windrow out over night ..which is the first time I've ever seen that as it is a safety hazard. In plain English leaving the windrow out is like washing ur clothes without drying them...starting a job not finishing. They never finish leaving a row of ice and snow down the middle of the street and don't put down a salt/brine layer making it harder for snow to stick to the surface. The process that is shown in the above video is amazing as it's all coordinated and runs like a well-oiled machine. It is also fun to be in the middle of it performing some functions to add to its efficiency. In Newfoundland the winters I saw were never-ending ...makes for a long shift.

I've seen the snow dump at the bottom of the former quarry off the west side of Pie IX Boulevard having the accumulated snow remain there as late as August!

Lol@ nowhere to put the snow, not to mention all the people get off lucky not having to shovel the end of the laneways out! Not like here in SW Ontario where it ends up in the bottom of your laneway or worse, not plowed at all. Tax payer dollars at work! What a joke! $20 says that all that snow is being dumped in the St. Lawrence, how is that environmentally sound?
@disarm2k106 жыл бұрын

When the snow melts off the pavement and the water runs down the drains where do you think it ends up? Waste water treatment??? Bwahahaha... that's for sewage, runoff goes right into the river.
