i love how in spectacular spider-man peter talks to himself in his during his fights. like there was one fight were the villain rips out of his webs & peter says “man i gotta start making that stuff stronger.” like bro just the little things he does make him such a great spider-man adaptation, it’s kinda like when i was watching the amazing spider-man 2 & you could see as andrew was chatting & quipping with electro he would look around his surroundings showing he’s always one step ahead in planning out his next moves yk🤷🏽‍♂️

absolutely, the little back and fourth Spidy does in this show is amazing, its such a good representation of spiderman. And agreed AS2 is goated, while I havent watched it in a while I know its still up there

I would like to point out that this version of MJ is by far the most comic accurate. Gwen is actually fairly inaccurate. In the comics, Peter and Gwen were on the verge of a breakup because she hated Spider-Man (she believed he was responsible for her dad dying). Peter and MJ are the perfect couple as long as they're written well, which modern comics and most adaptations have failed to get across.

This is a fantastic video. Can't wait for your video on season 2. Subscribed. Small nitpick- Venom is Eddie and the Symbiote together, not just the symbiote. The movies really muddied the waters on that, so it's not your fault. I really enjoyed watching you learn more about these characters and the show. It truly is the GOAT

Weirdly Spectacular Spider-Man is a better adaptation of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics than the actual Ultimate Spider-Man tv show. Spectacular knew what to take from the Bendis run and how to combine it with what the writers of the 616 comics did. Example: Eddie is an older child hood friend of Peter like in Ultimate but suit is an alien and it and Eddie combine to form a fully in control Venom like in 616. If the show reached its goal of 5 seasons and tv movies, I think it would be up their with Batman TAS, Teen Titans, and Avatar in terms of popularity.

Online when i see people that say spectacular is bad they always say it's "Overhyped" "Bland colors" "shitty art style" but never anything about the story or the characters itself because they know there's a reason its titled as one of if not the best spidey adaptation.

I think disliking a show or film because to many people like it doesn't make sense, additionally with the art style, of course there are going to be some that you gel with more then others but that shouldn't detract points from the story its trying to tell

@@Undeniably_Idiotic indeed and honestly as a huge fan of Spider-Man who's been not liking the current Spiderman comics right now which have been so bad currently, I was so happy Spectacular Spider-Man gave us Spider-Man fans everything we ever wanted, but I was also devastated when this show got cancelled because damn it this show deserved another chance to finish its story at least in my opinion.

When I was a kid I was excited for Spectacular Spider-Man, after coming off of Unlimited, I was ready for a return to form. The premise of seeing a young Peter for the first time, outside of the raimis movies, had me hyped. Then it came out, and I kinda liked it, but I kept waiting for it to get as good as Spider-Man The Animated Series. I was hoping for it to get to the season long archs and intricate story telling and I didnt get that. I was confused by the changing of the lore and absolutely hated it. I was very disappointed after season 1, but still looked forward to season two in hopes that it was going to be bigger and better. And then it was just the same as season 1, and I despised what they did to Eddie brock. As a kid with already an in depth knowledge on Spider-Man Lore it felt like a betrayal. I truly hated this show by this point, but was conflicted because I felt like if it continued it could've reached the height of TAS if given more attention. Rewatching it now I still feel roughly the same but with more leniency. I can say I actually like it, even have a minor admiration, but I still can't call it truly Amazing. Pretty great, but not the best. I appreciate the art more now than I had then.. When I was a kid the departure in style from the typical American animation style was jarring but today I can really appreciate the uniqueness of it, and how it stands out beyond any other show. The character interactions I can truly say are fantastic. The Lore changes still bother me, but I wished it continued. If it had I feel like we would've gotten those season long story archs that I missed so much. It truly had amazing potential that was killed off far too early. Its true fruition wouldve been beautiful. But still, the 90s Animated series is still the best, and diffinitive Spider-Man show. The near 1 for 1 many stories had from the comics was like watching the pages leap to life. It is truly THE MOST accurate Spider-Man show, by all intensive purposes and in the most literal way. We will never get a show like these two ever again, but especially not TAS. I can understand the love this show gets, its the one many people grew up with. Spider-Man and Peter are characterized perfectly, MJ is a lowkey hoe but in sophistocated way, very free spirited, care free and wild, not typically the one to settle down with a single partner and messing with multiple men at the same time, at least not until she figures out what she wants. Spider-Man and Black cats relationship is just pure sexual tension depicted in such an amazing way. Harrys relationship with his father is perfect. However I feel like this show marked the downfall trajectory of Spider-Man in the visual media. After this show released Marvel has refused to let Spider-Man move on from this era of his life, and has stagnated Him in this state. We have yet to see that experanced and older Spider-Man that He is meant to be. Afterall, Peter was only in highschool for 60 issues. We don't get to see him struggle in juggling his adult life and superheroing, him ever get married, etc. For all this show did great, it really cursed the character into existing in this limbo, to the point where people have mandellaed themselves into thinking this is how he is supposed to be and i can never really forgive this show for that.

Now this is a lengthy comment, but I ain't complaining. Because its such a well thought out and well written comment I will try my best to give the same energy. I completely Understand hating this show as a kid, Its like myself and the newer Ben 10's I grew up watching the classics so seeing it chanced or rebooted and things being different never sat well with me, But I am glad that you came to appreciate some aspects of this show, though of course I don't hope this show in my heart in any sense I watched it because I was asked to so I can side with you a lot in this. there are somethings that other shows will just do better and reading through your comment really made we want to watch Unlimited, I also haven't read many if any of the comics so I don't have the baseline understanding when things are changed. But its super cool when I learn about it, so thank you for letting me know all this. I feel like every time I make one of these videos I get to learn so much while also just watching a fun show. Now of course my reply isn't going to hold a candle to your comment, but thank you for writing all this it was honestly a really fun read, which is rare as reading is not my strong suit.

How exactly is Spectacular Spider-Man perfect? It’s by no means bad, but it is far from perfect. The main problem is that we very rarely see Peter Parker suffer consequences from needing to be Spider-Man. It happens in the first few episodes, but after that, Peter’s dual life suddenly becomes so easy due to having overly understanding friends and everything always working out for him in the end. The show really does not represent the character and source material quite as well as everyone thinks. I don’t understand how nobody else seems to notice this. There’s also points here and there that what some call clever, I just see as being manipulative and buzz killing. On another note, the episode with the first appearance of Sandman, he just lets him run around and rob places and terrorize people so that he can act absurdly out of character and play football, all without consequences. That’s just not right.

oh no no I agree its not perfect, but I did highly enjoy it. I think all adaptations will have issues with sticking to source materials and keeping to character, as they have a story of their own and are trying do some new things. Which yes can sometimes work and sometimes not, but for this show I think they did pretty good, I guess I give it some leniency when it comes to consequences because its designed for a younger audience, I agree its explained away quickly but I like that it was at least given some reasoning. But ye I do agree with what your saying I just think its a very fun watch

@@Undeniably_Idiotic yeah I do agree that’s it’s still a pretty decent watch. The stories are pretty interesting, some of them are takes on plot lines we haven’t seen in other recent Spider-Man cartoons, like the Big Man and the Master Planner, and the villains are all handled great, especially Tombstone, Venom, and the Green Goblin. Though Kraven turning into a feral beast is kind of questionable. I still think Spider-Man 2 PS5 has easily the best portrayal of him of any other media.
