I get so many more kills with it now just popping it in the middle of fights where they corner me or something. without the slam it can kill a lot more now. but could be because im in shit lobbies because im shit. so who know what the fuck im saying. lol.

Target priority is a big one for this dude, I also noticed that he mostly grapples upwards and takes long to do so and could utilize quicker wall grapples more often. He also seems to play as if he were a rein, constantly positioning himself with the team and could be pushing backline more often. Besides a couple other basic mechanics that could be smoothed out, pretty good gameplay though.

i mostly play like rein because people in gold need a babysitter so that why im not able to dive as much. other than that my target priority is fine but once im actually in the battle i get distracted easily because of adhd and i will easily give up on kills.

I have ADHD too, but half the fights it felt like you were focused on pile driver positioning more than actually prioritizing their supps. Especially on attack, there were like 4 engages in a row where you shot at Orisa blindly, reloaded after using half ur ammo, then backed off, all the while Mercy was right behind her :( It's been awhile since I'd imagine you've gotten better with it n stuff tho, keep up the grind ❤

@@ozlyn_ I also have adhd but you really need to learn to risk test with ball a bit more, he can sustain himself quite easily and distract a lot, even if he cant commit entirely to a kill. It is not balls job to peel consistently for his team, if you want to play like a rein, play rein. Ball gets his value from distraction, displacement and destruction. Worry about what you want to do first, then if you notice a teammate who needs peeling, you can turn that into a 2V1 situation, or you can look for a 1v1 situation. I find that most top ball players tend to roll around, slam and shoot with the team, then consistently look for 1v1s they can take. Also, if you learn how to position yourself in the enemy back line and rely on megas for healing a bit more, you'll realise that in order for the enemies to turn around and look at you, it causes them to have their back to yours and their team. Think about it from the pov of an ana, two tanks up the front, easily able to apply damage and healing, can also throw nade and hit both tanks. Now ball goes behind and she has to make a choice, does she look at you, her team, where does she use her nade, on you? That means her tank and your team doesnt get hit by it either. Value is not always just kills or just shielding. Lastly, if your team is always dependant on the rein ball and thats what they get, they will never learn how to play with an actual ball and you will never learn how to actually play ball properly. No offense intended, youre doing well so far, just think a bit more selfishly in terms of what value you can provide outside shieldbotting.

I also notice that the player is only doing the grappling and then slam maneuver, this is really bad for several reasons: 1. Grapple is a really powerful tool that can do so much more than a stepping stone for a slam, even just running over them is going to disorientate them so much more than slamming over and over again. 2. Slam and grapple have different cool down so you will be constantly wait for your slam when your grapple is ready. 3. Using your grapple for slam means you will have no means of escape after you landed, if that Ana is any good she will sleep you every time. Instead, learn rebound, learn wall jump, learn double boop, use grapple for movement and running multiple enemies over.

I usually play DPS but have been messing around with ball the past few weeks, and I can absolutely 100% see this lol. A lot of my early games were just wasting grapple to get high up and slam, retreat, and repeat. Only recently have I really started to understand the power in using grapple to run people over and screw with their aim on my teammates, along with other things you mentioned such as wall jumps (which I’m still not great with). The guy in the video it was a complete bot lmao. He played directly in front of the enemy team the entire time always sending it down main. Ball is just an oversized tracer that specializes in gorilla Warfare. Never saw him Scout or set up once. He will never get out of gold until he drastically improves his mechanical ability or completely rethinks his job as hamster. As soon as you get into low plat you get sigma's that can actually time The Rock and prevent predictable Dives. The same goes for Brig, doomfist, sombra, lucio, zen, ect. Chazm is good because he far excels over other wrecking ball mains in mechanical ability, he is not the best teacher.

Chazm, I've been trying to get better at Ball. I'm a console player so all those wrecking ball techs are kind of hard to pull off due to joystick lack of maneuverability compared to a mouse. With a lot of these low rank players i feel like talking about mechanics instead of the bigger picture of the character is kind of useless and just is gonna enforce their bad habits. This ball seemed completely confused on who to go on and didn't have any strategy at all. When ur in higher ranks for long enough this stuff is kind of just second nature and seems pretty obvious but its the main reason people don't climb. If he just flanked half the time to try to kill a support or dps hed shoot up instantly to gold just because the 1v1s would be so easy and would win more team fights rather than running down main and shooting an orisa.
