Spectators leaving Place de la Concorde Wednesday after watching the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paralympics in Paris said they thought organizers staged an "incredible" and "fantastic" show. It was the first time a Paralympic opening ceremony has taken place away from the main stadium. The 4,400 competitors from 168 delegations paraded into the arena as the sun set and thousands of spectators packed into the stands around the historic square.Eighteen out of France’s 35 Olympic venues will be used for the Paralympics that will run until September 8. Speaking during the opening ceremony, International Paralympic Committee (IPC) president Andrew Parsons told athletes and spectators that he hoped for an "inclusion revolution" before French President Emmanuel Macron officially declared the Games open.(AFP)
