No they're genuinely good dudes. But airsofters are perpetually immature. They dont tolerate that. If you treat them like shit theyll do the same. If you're friendly theyll be friendly right back. Yes things have happened in the past. But people seem to think they know everything from what they read online. Until you meet the guys in person I wouldn't be quick to judge. They're some of my favorite people to roll with.
