I really enjoy NA now as a little side adventure He-man had. It was the thought at the time that NA would be He-man forever and we'd never see the old cast and locations again which made it unappealing. Now it's just another adventure He-man had I don't see why people still hate on it so much. It's actually a good show.

As someone who was born in 85, NA has always had a special place in my heart because they were the He-Man toys I was able to buy new as they were coming out instead of inheriting them from older cousins etc. That said, I'm still a bit salty not to get a googly eyed animated Skeletor head. :)

I was 7 when He-Man (name of the toy line) was released and he was was so exciting to me. It was DIFFICULT to collect until we moved to a bigger city so I missed out on a lot of earlier figures and playsets but I had the basics. Id always hoped classics would have had a sorceress from either minicomic or cartoon appearance

I think y'all did a great job with new adventures He-Man and the space mutants in classics they turned out better than the original if they had made them like that in the beginning I think I would have liked them as a kid. Great video

One of my fave figures from the MOTUC. I just thought he looked so cool and was a great addition to the line. Thanks for doing a profile on him. Id love to see a cartoon of MOTU with the artwork similar to the designs on the boxes and clip at 1:00. Have it aimed at a mature audience. I can dream.

Everything Scott said concerning Val Armorr is correct. There's a copyright notice for DC Comics at the end of all the Karate Kid movies. In fact, there's a video titled 'Jim Shooter Biographical Interview by Alex Grand & Jim Thompson | Comic Book Historians' released on March 17th, 2021 revealing more on this topic. A guy living in Long Island sued Columbia Pictures because he came up with the name and wrote a similar story in 1968. When lawyers found out about the Legion of Super-Heroes character, Mr. Shooter had to testify in federal court that Karate Kid first appeared in Adventure Comics #346 ("One of Us Is a Traitor") sold on May 26th, 1966.

Firstly this video was great, super informative, cheers. Secondly: I love NA, I love the cartoon and the toys and i loved how Classics handled them, the part reuse really helped if you ask me, really helping to fold them into He-Man better and make them feel more like they 'belonged'. There were some cock-ups (NA Skeletor and Hydron) but the likes of Tuskador, Mara, Darius, Optikk, Slushhead and Icarius were all graet, Tuskador being one of the best figures in the line if you ask me (and Darius and Optkk not being far off). Karatti always seemd a little off to me back then but I've warmed to him significantly since then. I really wish you lot had gotten to the likes of Butthead, Hoove, Lizorr, Kayo and my main man Sagitar (who I think was planned once?). I just wanted to post that to balance out some of the NA-hate on the web (though most of it seems to have been overtaken by Revelations hate, nice to see it did some good :D)

Your videos are always so interesting, thank you! I have a quick question if you don't mind? You've taught us a lot about how toys are made, and I was surprised to find out just how much tooling costs when creating molds for toys. I'm curious how this works with part-work collections such as the Eaglemoss Star Trek or Batmobile collections. They release once a fortnight, then it's straight on to the next issue. How do they manage to afford to create tooling for every single release? The Trek collection is up around 200 issues now, so have they made a tool for every release? How exactly does that work?

Well tooling for small unarticulated vehicles is much less. Prob 5-10K per vehicle

I would have preferred Lizor. The more reptile type toys the better. Your taste and mine align in that regard Scott. Now that that's out of the way, I really liked Karatii. I love the villains and the more monstrous or weird the better. I loved his design, color scheme, and his overall aesthetic. Predator vibes are present, but there's also a slasher Jason/Leatherface echo there too. The only negative aspect of this figure was the 40th reuse of the damn Trapjaw legs. Between the Trapjaw legs and the Skeletor shins there was no innovation present for many figures. Still, I do like this figure quite a bit.

I would've been up for this phase of MOTU, after accepting Filmation He-Man, wasn't coming back. Or if completely unrelated to MOTU ( I've always been a sucker for time travel/"man out of time"). But New Adventures was so very different (He-Man & Skeletor looking and sounding and even acting different, theme, logo, etc.). And it even started off on a wonky note, by showing the slender shaggy haired Adam and Eternia looking nothing like it had. I think had they had this not be (supposedly) He-Man, it would've done better.

I agree that the New Adventures Heroes are all pretty boring, They're almost all predominantly blue, and almost all accented with silver or gold. Though I do wish you could have gotten to Kayo; he looks like Space John McClane. Karatti came out very well. This was also when the figure construction was at its peak. All the joints are good and tight, the armor was executed correctly (with the clips around back instead of directly at the widest point of the chest); it just all came together very well.

Here's a question spector. Can you please explain to us why is it companies rather reuse a mold instead of making a new design? Like they'll do a new head sculpt but use the same body. Marvel Lengends uses the same body for multiple figures and just make a head instead of retooling a new body. I dont understand why they do that. Please the the process

He man needs to be rated r in order to revive it it is too dark and gritty for kid to do something different with the toys they need to do something different with the movie let's face it kids love Ninja turtles Batman Black panther Superman flash transformers they are not getting into He-Man for some reason let us adults have He-Man every hero is not meant to be rated PG I'm sure if they did a He-Man movie now he will be a skinny ripped guy instead of a buff big guy so the actor would look more like the new adventures of He-Man whoever play He-Man needs to be bigger than Dolph lundgren at least muscle wise if not high-wise also
