Spectra Watermakers providing water for disaster relief on Fijian Islands in 2016 after cyclone Winston.
Through generous donations from an international tech company, Sea Mercy has acquired an LB-2800F watermaker that was installed on their fast barge and is being used to provide water to those in need. They also have several portable Aquifer 360 units that they can leave with villages to desalinate water. Being able to provide pure safe drinking water has been very helpful in controlling disease after the cyclone on Fiji island.
There's no doubt that water is vital to our well-being. And while we are often surrounded by it, clean, safe drinking water can be difficult to obtain in remote places or in the aftermath of a disaster. Reverse osmosis membrane filtration is recognized as the safest, most reliable filtration method in reducing salts and eliminate bacteria, viruses, protozoa and cysts. Water is heavy and expensive to transport, and often water projects are installed with no maintenance performed, rendering them inoperable. Spectra Watermakers provides safe and cost-effective solutions for the military, remote homes and resorts, disaster relief, emergency preparedness, village water supplies and offshore oil rigs.
These systems can be operated autonomously by solar panels, wind generators or virtually any other available power source. With additional solar modules, the systems can provide excess energy to keep batteries charged, power refridgeration for emergency medical supplies, or keep laptops and communication systems online. Our equipment is backed by Spectra Watermaker's renowned training, maintenance and after-sales support.
