My son TOTALLY did the “Sonic the Hedgehog” style run when he was on the PeeWee basketball team! Not to mention he didn’t like the sound of the buzzer at the end of the quarter so he would stand in the middle of the court and hold his hands over his ears while he watch the clock count down. I took him off that team so fast!!! 😂 It took years for us to get him to bend and use his arms when he runs 🤦🏽‍♀️

I absolutely LOVE the neighborhood we moved in to. It’s like a straight 80s flash back. There are close to 40 kids on this block plus the little cul de sacs. Between the 3 houses across the street from us there are 10 kids. But this neighborhood is so special. We have a ping pong table out side, there’s pickle ball in the court, multiple neighbors have pools. There is a neighborhood park that is basically part of our back yard and another one super close. But kids from the ages of 4-14 hang out in what I can only describe as gangs. We moved here two years ago and I have become the neighborhood mom and I LOVE it. On a regular day there are at least 12+ kids at my house. My yard is full of bikes and scooters and kids 4 wheelers. I have a 6, 13, and 18 year old so the amount of kids here of all different ages is nuts. The 4-14 year olds hang out in groups but I have kids /adults from 4-21 in my home almost every damn day. The kids go fishing at the docks or parents put up fire pits with s’mores and out door movies. Everyone is always outside playing with water balloons, slip n slides, pools, on boats, kayaks, or paddle boarding. I have beards of kids playing laser tag or capture the flag in my back yard through the summer. I love the time pocket we moved into. Places like this still exist, you just have to search for them!
