I plan to work on my comic traditionally, and lettering is one of the things I almost fear within the process because I have so little experience. This video is a godsend because on youtube, there’s not a lot of content focusing on this.

It's so niche that it's not likely to generate a lot of views, so bigger channels with more on the line may avoid it just for that (justifiably so if you're depending on that revenue)

Thank you so very much for this video! I'm just working on my first comic project ever, it's gonna be 160+ pages and it gets a little overwhelming from time to time. It's gonna be a huge learning by doing process and videos like this help a lot. I will definitely go watch your other ones in this series, the quality of them seem to be great! You also seem to be a very likeable person and I enjoyed listening to what you had to say. Thanks again!

Great videos I found you late last year and have been enjoying your content since . Can you do one on panelling next?
@jholtillus Жыл бұрын
It's a good suggestion. I'll think about how it might work! My approach to paneling is so...disorganized.

Thank you for this video! Super helpful! I have Scott McCloud's "Making Comics - Storytelling Secrets of Comics, Manga, and Graphic Novels," and it has been so informative, but I truly enjoyed your breakdown of speech bubbles and text. Adding Understanding Comics to my cart right now lol

This is going to sound weird but the way You talk... tone of Your voice is somehow very relaxing apart of course from the fact that You provide very in depth knowledge regarding creation of comic books I like to listen to You.

It's a bit off topic but it's really cool to see that the same ideas and principles work both for web design and comics (and probably other things but I only have web background to state this). Seems that in comics it's also mostly about finding a balance between UI and UX, how we can express our creativity and create something unique and fascinating without making our users/readers feel confused and overwhelmed Oh and great job, love your channel! So informative and well structured, you must be very experienced in teaching. Thank you for making these videos!

This is very informative! Thank you for sharing! I also see some artists fail to notice that their comics having too small of texts. Because they work on large pen tablets, but their readers use mobile phones.
