"Scale lekay matha pechi nahi karna" is the worst message a harmonica player can transmit to another harmonica player.An instrumental version must always correspond to the vocal version to sound realistic and authentic reproduction of the original vocal version.Milon Gupta has played fifty% of his recorded songs in keys other than the original key because it was convenient or easier to negotiate the song that way.But that is not what should be cherished or worshipped. You are only expressing your limitation rather than merriting the desirability of playing a song in any other key but the original key.😀😀

You are not even remotely comparable to my Guruji Late Milon Gupta in terms of skill of playing harmonica and musical knowledge. So I dont bother or care for your comments. I have only conveyed the message of my Guruji and thats all.

If you want to play in original key all the time, then you would need many harmonicas in different keys. Most people have harmonica in the key of C or a few other keys. In that case his suggestion is very practical.

Song composers select a scale to suit the mood of the situation, who is going to sing the song and also to an extent on which actor/actress the song is supposed to be played for. While playing harmonica, we need not worry about all these factors and only try to express ourself the way we love to. Scale matters but should not be rigid in selecting the key. Asim Da like his Guru jee too is a legend in his field. Respect for both.
