All of this reprint are GREAT!! The weirdness around "running the value of these cards into the ground" is so odd when this is meant to be a card game that you actually play. MTG's main focus is NOT being a collectable TCG, I'm so glad that they're getting more cards out so people can play with them!! ⭐

Magic the Gathering. Its in the name bro. Yes its a game but these cards need to hold some value inorder for people to have fun chasing and collecting. If a new TCG comes out and all the cards are below 2$, the game would die fast

@@entertainmentinc9735 That's what I think the alternative treatments are for. Pokemon is doing fine with them. I think the WOTC has actually finally got it almost right with stuff like the Raised-Gold-Foils in Bloomburrow, but they made it Collector's only which really limits who gets to collect, and the prices are insane.

A card store than can't business shouldn't exist and a card store that relies on single prices is led by stupid.

Can't make anyone happy, they will complain when you put good cards in product like this, or will complain if you fill it with bulk rares. I was glad to see wizards put some decent reprints in here. And long term I think they end up holding. Did you know there are some cards that were put in FREE welcome packs that stores could get over and over that still have significant value over bulk?

As a new player I've been watching all of the videos regarding Foundations because the packs look pretty good to me but I see lots of people complaining and even recommending me not to buy these bundles and just go for separate cards... These non foundation cards labeled as foundations will hold a premium yet most people will think they’re junk or they’ll get overplayed sleeveless. They’ll hold future value, like the family event party box cards

It's a good value for new players, but it's not that much value over all. I think the most expensive card is Aurelia and she was down to $5 during Double Masters 2022 - Aftermath.

It's made to build standard decks not commander, but there are some commander staples in it so it's good for basic starting points maybe, but if you're a new commander player I would recommend buying precon decks and upgrading those instead.

I'm definetly gonna get at least one of these. Actually I think the 1st shipments of these will be sold out pretty quickly. Maybe the booster displays will as well. I love that they put dividers in the box, and I love that you get all those regular Rebecca Guay basics. And that Jim Nelson forest is my favorite forest. I don't mind that they've re-printed it so many times hehe.

If the margins on this product are better for LGS stores (wishful thinking maybe), then I strictly love this product. If not, then I'm happy for the new player and remorseful for the LGSs pressured into secondary market to make rent.

in all seriousness, who the F care about "card value?" Dumbest thing ever tbh. The cheaper the cards the better for everyone. It's a card game, NOT an investment. Just look at all the extreme losers that got mad when the recent cards were banned in commander for example. The absolute bottom of the barrel losers that got the idea about the game completely wrong. Buying overpriced staples is such a burden. This stating box is probably one of the best products they have made in a long time. Fully welcoming and embracing new players and setting a staple for what to expect within magic.

@@oldschoolmtg are you kidding me? wtf? Anyone wanting to PLAY spend the money required to do so at a reasonable level. And the only thing preventing that are overpriced singles or cards in general. This value deal is immensely amazing. the only people mad about expensive cards and losing money are the whales and they have no right to be mad if they chose to pay for overpriced singles in the first place. Competative players already are aware of this and it's a risk they have to expect buying into cards that can very well get banned, and as we know, rotate out. So it is a very well expected thing to need to keep buying overpriced singles.

You can't say it's bad cards if your argument was that "they will not be worth anything anymore". That means there ARE impactfull and good cards. 50$ for 400+ cards is a great deal. It's a starter kit. Everything needed to get going and a good base line. Great great deal and many fine impactfull cards. So you're saying a new player looking into magic and wanting to start would rather buy a box with one single black lotus...? Than a library of "make your own deck" kit like this? You made exaggerated examples so I do too. The price is fine. Really solid and you already said the cards were really good and were valuable and that's why you got worried in the first place. Do you think a player want fun/impactful cards or expensive ones? What would it cost to buy all the cards from the starter collection if you bought them all seperately? Yeah, think about that one.
