Speed dating a 2009 Arctic Cat M1000 RTR dealer-option turbo

Dating can be awkward. Fortunately, when I hooked up for a quickie with this 2009 M1000 turbo there was instant chemistry. Unfortunately, most of it was in the gas tank.

The giant fuel filler is a left over from the first 4-Stoke Cats. The fuel pump was installed though the filler so it had to be big. They used them on a bunch of sleds and then just stopped. I like them, they hold a funnel WAY better than the small fillers and if your good (or feeling lucky) you don't need a funnel at all! Great video, made me chuckle.

The only problem was that the filler necks cracked on all these big fuel capped Cats! I have a Firecat, still love the thing, but the damn filler neck broke and now Cat doesnt produce them anymore even though there is a huge safety recall on them. I do love filling up the sled without a funnel though!

That big fuel cap was handy! You can tip it on its side and scoop fuel out to start a campfire. Done that once or twice.
