I would agree, but I understand why the policy exists. Want to make sure not everyone is running unmarked mustangs. I am a little salty about unmarked vehicles being under a no pursuit policy though… (Assuming that’s what Jeff means at the beginning of the vid.)

@Thatonem8 Oh just unmarked units, yeah that makes sense. Tbh I was narrow minded and compared it to todays policing, alot of departments are enacting no chase policies.

@josecarrilloii4036 well to be honest, it does prevent pffiver involved MVAs, and also protects pedestrians, plus once officers get a plate, and vehicle model, they can track down the person. Unless the vehicle is stolen...

Just for everyone's info. The no pursuit policy is to keep all the RP Officer from just automatically jumping into Mustangs. But if everyone's looking for speed, they can jump in a Challenger which is a marked fleet unit

One thing that’s been great about the new Trooper vehicles, is the sheer amount of choice folks have when it comes to picking a patrol car. And the Mustang sure does sound great, I look forward to seeing the unmarked/UC cars the other departments will get.

Ngl having a no pursuit policy for unmarked sports cars is kinda dumb, I get a no pit policy but the entire purpose of those type of unit's is to go fast enough to catch up to speeding cars.

Jeff’s explanations as to why they chose to do so make sense though. To me it’s just cool they are constantly trying new things in an effort to keep the server fresh after several years now.

Honestly I really like the rule. The cops have Air One, multiple ground units, and radios-- giving them fast interceptors for pursuits is a little overkill imo. And let's be real, when was the last time you've seen irl footage of a pursuit with 10 Mustangs?

My local sheriff’s office has a few Mustangs that they do use in pursuits, however, they are marked units, so it makes a bit more sense. Seeing one fly by code 3 is still a bit nuts though.

Well being a game it isn’t a big deal and neither do I wanna make it a big deal but in real life FHP uses Mustangs and the Challenger in pursuit but it’s rarely on video they just can’t PIT unless it’s really necessary. It’s kind of a bummer not allowing the Mustang to be in pursuit and “ONLY” for traffic enforcement which does make sense.

it was either that or no mustang, it was never supposed to be in the pack but with the upcoming undercover units it had it's place to be used.

To be honest, I think it'd make more sense to allow them to pursue, only until another standard unit arrives to take over. That's how it works where I am at least: the more standard Incident Response cars aren't allowed to pursue - with the caveat being they can until someone who is authorised to pursue takes over. I think that'd make sense here too.

I think you just need a no PIT policy with unmarked/ undercover units. If Kim took off before a marked unit arrived, she’d just get away? Or maybe allow them in pursuits until a marked unit arrives, and then drop out?

Florida does engage in pursuits in their unmarked vehicles.... they don't do PITs, but ABSOLUTELY will chase

Not gonna lie I’ve been hoping for a bit of an undercover traffic style unit. A bit of the NFS Most Wanted in me probably. The elite unit but that would be for a pursuit. Maybe unrealistic but something to maybe consider in extreme cases like a bearcat?

Can you consider the Matt suggestion, which the undercover unit can pursuit the vehicle until the fleet unit arrived. Then they will back off or retreating.

That first stop was way lenient. Warning for 106 in a 60. One thing I hope about your no pursuit policy in these unmarked aggressive driving units is that you can at least follow until a marked unit has visual on it. Otherwise, these guys are going to just get away. With unmarked units, I do like calling in a marked unit onto the stop. Otherwise, how does the suspect know you're not an impersonator? I know the uniform helps. The Mustang looks great. I'm a bit confused because I thought Rockstar was sending cease and desists on behalf of car companies and taking down servers that don't comply.
