This is a quick scene I put together using zbrush, 3ds Max, photoshop, quixel suite, bitmap to material, and Unreal Engine 4. This scene took me about 5 hours to put together from start to finish.
I also included all my mistakes. There was only a little bit of cut footage which was from when I got an error on importing the grass. You cannot bring a material from zbrush into 3ds max and then into unreal. It seems to make unreal crash every time. Besides that this is basically the raw footage at high speed.
All final assets are custom assets made in the video except for the fire which can be found in the effects cave demo by epic. The moon and the clouds are pretty heavily photosourced from the web with little editing to them.
Music is from the Dark Souls Soundtrack.

You made an amazing moon in ZBrush - it's a pity you didn't use it... At a 24:27 point of time it looks pretty awesome..

i love your work. as a game artist, it's great to watch your workflow, and i have picked up one or two techniques from you that i otherwise would have overlooked or not thought of to speed things up :) great work!

yeah man :D keen to get quixel suite - i used it in college, but haven't since. so god damn intuitive :D but even just your zbrush sculpting is rad, and i'd never thought to make foliage in z brush either :) inspired dude!

Great video! You think you could point me out on how to learn to do the grass pile edges?

I liked how you made the mask. At 16:39 you made a pic of the bonfire UV's to use in photoshop. Was that so the mask would get the correct size and shape?

Hi man, very inspirring to watch you work. I try hard to figure out what you do, but because its going so fast it's really hard. In anyway still very inspirring. One thing i was wondering though, how do you get those nice rock alphas? I've been fiddeling around with various pictures of cracks and stuff in photoshop to make some nice ones myself, but every time i try, they end up looking either too sharp or too flat or blurry. Is there a tip you can give out on how to get those nice ledges in the alphas you try out at around 2.45?

yeah, i looked at his rock alphas too... they look really nice. I might just buy them as well, but since i want to learn both ZBrush and Quixel, right now i experiment with trying to make some myself, and if i fail too much, i might just buy them :-|

Nice work! How do you have your trim smooth border brush set up to get the layered effect on the rock? I do not get the same results if I attempt something similar with the default settings.

+JackX570 Thank you for the fast response! A little more specifically how do you achieve the stair step or terrace effect you are getting @ 1:12. If I hold alt to invert the brush I get a similar result but it is normal to the polygon and does not create the nice layer or terrace you are getting.
