Sonic and Flash landing the same amount of strike to defend against Empy Boiled doesn't mean they're at the same speed. When Flash vs Garou vs PS fought they were roughly the same up until Flash was taken out then both remaining ones increased their speed even further. The same thing happened here when EB vs Flash left Sonic out of the fight. You could clearly see Sonic's reaction, he isn't on the same level. So yeah, Sonic is strong but he isn't on the level of Flash. Flash's rank though is supposed to higher based on his performance. He is severely underrated by Hero Association.

Sonic was done kinda dirty in the recent chapters, but I def agree that he's relative to Flashy Flash if not equal, this is portrayed even better in the webcomic where we can see Sonic actively keep up with Flashy Flash and even surprise him multiple times in the fight against the Heavenly Ninja Party. Still, even in the manga he's clearly relative to Flashy Flash, I don't get the people saying he's not when he actively keeps up with FF in the brief fight he had against the Heavenly Ninja Party and even Empty Void, the inferiority complex is clearly being used for comedy purposes and even though we do see Sonic being surprised by some of Flashy's attacks, we do see him keep up regardless, unless Flashy for some reason decided to downplay himself and bring his ability down to Sonic's level, which would make 0 sense considering how Empty Void is a really big threat that shouldn't be toyed with, specially considering how he's most likely stronger than both of them.

Sonic definitely not relative to flash and I think murata made that as clear as he could. Yeah, flash resorted to a technique but it put sonic in the dirt. And a lot of the panels made sonic the butt of a joke with flash as the straight man. Also when flash went against the leader sonic was in awe for like the first time ever, a whole page was dedicated to it man. If you want sonic to be "equal" to flash then read the webcomic, youll see how much of a difference there is in the fights.

Saying it put sonic in the dirt is just weird since he literally blocked the flashy kicks. So he reacted to it, he was literally in mid air so ofc he’s gonna get sent into the ground by the force of the kicks. Sonic was really only the butt of the joke in terms of his inferiority complex and mental maturity/experience. Not really due to his speed or power. Also you completely ignored the context of that page, Sonic literally attributes his current abilities to his ANGER, we see when flashy is resolve amped or rageful he gets a boost like many others, which happened against Platinum S. As well as Sonic literally stating it’s due to his rage, and flashy also starts performing better than he was before that, as well as the fact that he isn’t using any of his techniques against the Ninja Leader but he did use them against Sonic, and if flashy is way faster than sonic right now that would show even more that he simply got amped. Because sonic “forced” him to use an ultimate technique but apparently now he’s massively faster than that without any techniques? It just makes more sense contextually that Flashy Flash is mental amped.

Ultimate technique =/= going serious/all out unless its stated somehow (like Blast and PS). He was casual when he used it. He also used flashy kicks against the Ninjas underground and then he blitzed his own ultimate move when he got serious and 1 shoted them with his blade Even if Sonic is above the Monster Ninjas he would still be below Arc 1 FF. Current FF is stronger but we dont know by how much since EV doesnt even fight him (we could see based on scale or something or more statements). Doubt FF can survive even 1 attack from casual EV@@shatteredxz​
