Dad always told me to plow at 3mph,said it worked soil better.When ever he wasn't... around I was plowing as fast as tractor would pull plows.My logic was the sooner you get seed in ground the more bushels per acre,as long as equipment is not getting beaten up all is good.

yes. most of what is visible as "smoke" coming from the exhaust is, in fact, soot. this almost pure carbon will settle harmlessly back to earth. diesel engines work on slightly different principals than gasoline burning engines, and are much more efficient, as well as cleaner. it is the emissions you cannot see that have a lighter molecular weight that rise into the upper atmosphere and cause damage, such as those exhausted from gasoline burning engines.

Black smoke from a diesel running fast under load is diesel fuel that did not combust because the injectors are pumping more then the engine needs. Look up over-fueling diesel.

Only in terms of CO2 - diesel exhaust gases usually contain far higher levels of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides (both of which cause acid rain), and contain in the region of 20x as many cancer-causing carbon particulates when compared to gasoline exhaust gases.

nowa days most of what they do is no till min till and strip till or for some farms that do any heavy tillage its with a ripper or chisel plow sure there are a few guys that plow but most plows you do see are old antique ones that are all shinied up for sale or actual work horses that are all rusty sitting out of the way in the weeds

I can almost hear those windmills weep.
@tonsssedell43188 жыл бұрын
That's true, but the worst thing with wind power in the Nordic is even worse. The blades are kept warm using electricity from an outside source, including when the plant is offline, typically at the times the power would really be needed elsewhere. Wait, that wasn't the worst part yet. The electric heating is obviously not enough in all conditions. You know how they thaw those when they're covered in ice and need to be cleaned before reactivation? The thawing apparatus arrives in the afternoon on a heavy truck, and a several hundred kilowatt oil burner starts. The following morning the tank of water has warmed enough so they can warm the turbine blades by spraying.
@tonsssedell43188 жыл бұрын
Oh, there's one more detail I forgot. How can they reach the blades? No problem, they actually use helicopters to spray. No, I kid you not. Yes, that's how taxpayers' money is spent in Sweden. (Wind power is obviously not profitable. Anywhere.)
@Hakkeholt8 жыл бұрын
It also doesn't constant power supply, you see when the wind stops there the windmill stops, power use is quite constant, but how do they solve that, a coal plant needs a start up of about half a day, it's not a diesel generator where you just hit the throttle, so a lot of electricity is just wasted cause due overcapacity to prevent a lack of power.
