I had the same problem although I could read it, the fact that there was space there made it easier for other thoughts to creep in, whether its what ate for breakfast or if I forgot to do my homework. Then I would often find myself reading but not know what I read because I was thinking about laundry. idk it was weird

This was great, working on speeding up my reading today and this one was no BS just to the point learning. Amazing when it went from 600 to 250, my mind had to take a second to slow back down to that level, when just before I was below that level in reading. I'll be watching this a few more times. I use a video speed controller allowing me to bump videos up as fast as I want. Near the end I was trying to watch it at 5x speed and It's impossible because your frame rates start to mix words together and there is no after image. The fastest I can read with 50-60% comprehension is about 1800 wpm. Listening to audiobooks I usualy listen at around 800-1200 wpm depending on the difficulty of what im hearing or who's talking.

I warm up with this video whenever Im about to srmtsrt reading. Actually works. Tip: dont sound the words out in your head. That slows you down, when you look at the sky do you say, "Blue" in your head. No. You see it and know it. The same thing is true of words. You dont have to sound out the words to extract a meaning.

I was always interested in speed reading but lost interest when I practiced, this does a good thing in that it allows the reader to experience reading and comprehension at 600wpm. The experience validates the possibility of such a thing. Wonderful video, I wish all digital text had the option to be speed read in the same manner presented here, one word at a time at a chosen speed.

Studies have shown that you will also remember more content from speed reading than from regular reading. Why because of the subconscious, which records everything. This method also helps with recall strengthening the connection between the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

Very nice video. I made it to 600 too but things got a little out of hand, though this is the first time I have done this. The brain is wired to find patterns, pieces of information that make sense and may be relevant to each other. Reading at such high speeds just flashes words that the brain tries to halt, or slow, so it can satisfy its need for understanding. When 600 wpm comes into play, any words that are interesting immediately detract the attention break focus, and derail you. good fun

You can try Reasy, it's an addon for firefox about speedreading. This video only shows 1 word eachtime, but on Reasy you can choose to see more words at the same time. I would suggested that you try to increase the amount of words being shown at the same time and sub-vocalizing the most important words within those words that is being shown. I read 7 words at the same time , i sub-vocalize the important words and don't sub-vocalizice with less important words.
