Testing out my wife's Twister Hammerhead 250cc dune buggy. Always wondered how fast it will go. Find out in this video.

Mine hit 40 stock easy. I would definitely do a little tuning. Not sure if it has the high low but I actually find low gear to be faster than the high for what ever reason

Ahhh. But it's so fun.
@dbfmentertainment95286 жыл бұрын
Maybe its just me but the revs sounded low. Does it still have the governor on? Either way 30 is usually fast enough out on something bumpy or on tight twisty trails. If I had your property I'd be having so much fun on that thing too! I enjoyed this video alot!
@Helmet4Life6 жыл бұрын
It is bare bore stock, so if it came with a governor, it will still be on it.
@josephyost225 жыл бұрын
These engines don’t have governors on it but the CDI may have a rev limiter
@GMC.Sonoma.4.33 жыл бұрын
@@josephyost22 yep the Chinese are clever at governing things down secretly. A performance kit way squeeze some power out but not enough, use a racing 250cc cdi.

Ya you have the 2 speed.Lucky you.I only have one speed range for foward and reverse.

I got mine almost 10 years ago at a local powersports place.They still make Twister Hammerhead dune buggys, the 250cc has been replaced by the 300cc same engine but has two foward gears for more speed.Just do a search to see where the closest dealer is.

@@jonathanwhitesides7666 I know this, but now Hammerhead only makes a 150 anymore. They used to make a 250 model and I bought one for my son like 15 years ago. Now if you want a bigger one Hammerhead only has a 150 but Trailmaster has the XRX 300.

If you look behind your drivers side seat.You will see a horizontal tube that your seatbelt attaches to. The next tube down you will see a plate that has been welded around that tube. This plate has your serial number on it.If you are lucky it has tape on it and pull the tape off to reveal serial number. Mine did not have tape and number was painted over. Take some steel wool and lightly scrub the surface and use spit,dishwashing soap or something to rub on the numbers for the stamped numbers to show up.The numbers are angled toward the seat.I was able to take a picture using my phone.
