I would say that Japan is good at creating blueprints but is not good at innovating the and tends to keep them in their purest form. It has pros (lucrative market that still buys music) and cons (lack of innovation). Whereas Korea is good at taking things that already exist and is able to implement at a high level of skills. (Ex: technology, K-pop which mixes Jpop and western pop). It has pros (practical approach) and cons (will always be seen as high level implementers and not innovators)
Finally people fond out that new jeans concept was not original just retro🙄

There's nothing wrong with that. Korea and Japan are very close in distance. It's natural for them to influence and copy each other, it's happened throughout history.
