Z125 quick turn throttle. (Get yours at kawasakibrad.com). All riders will need to change a throttle tube eventually. This shows how quick and easy it is. #kawasakibrad

Great video! You make it clear and easy to understand. Some other videos about changing a throttle tube had me wondering what the heck I was getting into. I bought a Gas Gas TXT 300 trials bike and I'm not a young man anymore. I'm 59 and recovering from throat cancer surgery. I bought a Domino slow action throttle tube assembly. The bike came stock with the quarter turn throttle like your bike had. This slow action throttle is close to half a turn to full throttle. Most people probably wouldn't like it but I think it will tame this 300 down a bit especially if I grab a handful of throttle unintentionally. It might keep me out of trouble. Thanks for a very easy to understand video K Brad😊

Thank you for the kind words. In my line of work I see the consequences of "close enough" parts on a regular basis. Trying to make things as error resistant as possible for all the fellow riders.

what do you do when the screws are so tight you can't budge them without stripping the heads? 0:51

Very common problem. Grab the head of them with vice grips and twist them out. Take it to your local bolt supply store and match it up with a stainless steel (or at least zinc plated) Allen head bolt.

My throttle rolls forward about a 1.2 inches. Any tips on why this is? Do I need to buy new throttle switches? (the part that the tube is held by)

Can't you just super glue the grip?? That's what I've been told to do.
@speeddemon3704 жыл бұрын
Yes, you sure can. A proper glue wrecks your grips if you have to take them off. I agree that it's not often, but it happens enough and me being a perpetual tinkerer I don't want to have to buy new grips every time. Super glue, contact cement, gorilla glue all have their advantages and disadvantages. To each their own. There is a new system I've been testing regarding a mix of grip tape and tie wire. Vid will be out this summer and it also explains the "air compressor trick".
@HalfdeadRider4 жыл бұрын
I didn't tie or glue mine, just used brake cleaner on the tube and in the grip to get it on really easily (work fast), it then evaporates and the grips never move.

@@christopherdean7616 Yea that will dry and act like glue, but as said above, I didn't use anything other than brake cleaner. It leaves nothing behind, but gives you enough lubricant for just enough time to get the grips on. They never moved, I sold that bike two weeks ago.
