Why don't they make new Speedmaster models with three subdials anymore? Two subdials just don't look their part.

Daniel Ziltener The two subdials are easier to read. With the three dials, one was broken down into a half hour wheel so if you were timing something and it was at say 45 minutes, it would actually look like 15 minutes. You'd have to look at the 12 hour subdial and try and make out if it was half way between the 12 and the 1 or not. But this way also makes it easier to read if you are using it as a GMT function. I always set my chronograph to my home time (by starting it at noon or midnight) and then use the normal time keeping watch to flip to the current time of the locale I'm at. I have a POC9300 and you can change the hour hand without stopping the watch. So now your timepiece shows you time back home (or you can set it to GMT if you prefer) as well as the local time of whatever country I happen to be in. Great option that wasn't as simple with the 3 dial system. Mind you, I do like the look of three dials. A lot of enthusiasts like a simple face, but I personally prefer a busier one.
