super impressed with how you manage to not overwork your drawings, theres a great sense of roughness and texture there even though you had the basics down in a couple minutes (of the speedpaint, idk how long it took in reality)
@heartmush10 ай бұрын
the basics took about 2-3 hours (everything up until the bg changes colors was about 1.5 hours), the rest of the rendering ~9! i was fighting for my life HAHA

i rarely comment but i just wanna say, im a fairly young artist and your artworks have been a huge inspiration for me throughout the years i really adore how you color and the rendering, its just soo good this is just beautifully compositioned (if thats the right word...? either way) this piece is so amazing. i aspire to draw like you one day :)

I Loooove this piece so much! Do you remember any of the textured brushes you used to make it? I saw by pausing really fast that you used a Kyle Webster palette knife brush, but unfortunately all of their brushes are locked behind Adobe Subscription now.

what would someone call this art style? i know not everything needs to have a label; i'm not trying to do that, but i just wanna know so i can find some similar references. since it keeps kinda wrong to try and replicate just one persons art, i want a variety of different artists to reference but with this specific style of art.

I was wondering what was the brush? It seemed so fun to use!
@heartmush10 ай бұрын
I used a variety of brushes, but I can't really pick them out because I was trying a bunch of them that I haven't used before (if you see in the video, there are points where I'm scrolling for several seconds, which is sped up so really it was several minutes HAHA-). Generally they are packs I found on deviantart.

Does it make drawing easier when you draw with the full canvas in view? When i draw i am usually really zoomed in and focus on small details :,) but hopefully that makes sense
@heartmush10 ай бұрын
it does! it helps me keep the overall composition in mind (hence why you see me zooming in and out so much-) when i edit the silhouette of the figure, i want to make sure it's not altering the composition i had established too much. there were parts of the speedpaint where i repainted the hair or pasted screenshots i'd taken from a few hours ago because i felt i'd lost the "flow" i first sketched out due to overrendering or overthinking it. imo it's best to get all the composition sorted before moving on to details :-)
