haha, nothing wrong with finetuning your art to your specific preferences, I suppose your teachers want you to capture "raw emotions" or something but honestly such a small percentage of actual artists work like that. just keep doing what you want!

Hey yvoi i just wanted to ask how did you learn how to draw bodies, like the composition is a little hard and practicing poses and body shapes is a little hard for me, im an aspiring artist and i have all the resources but i just wanted to know what practice tips you've got for me

I'm not sure if I've got anything of value to tell you, but personally I've always just drawn whatever looks best to me. Overthinking and self doubt are tricky pitfalls in art and best avoided. I always start with a face and no plan for the pose yet, then try to channel the general "feeling" I want to convey into curves and directions. e.g. it only takes a very small adjustment to change bodylanguage from timid to deliberately controlled. So if something doesn't quite look the way you want it to, take a few steps back and clear your mind before trying to spot the problems with a fresh view. Looking at your work with an empty mind also helps you spot the things you *do* like about it, it helps you view the picture the way a stranger would see it. So in short, try not to dwell on things too much, if it's hard it just means you're learning!
