That's not a speedrun, that's a low move run. Fire Emblem games have speedruns and Low Turn Count runs for this distinction. This game would more than likely have the same distinction, speedrunners will often have Low move counts , but will forgo the lowest turn count if more moves is faster.

I had a similiar game when I was a kid, I forgot what it was called but you were a cube shaped bird that could rotate like the dice, except the tiles it crossed would disappear and there weren't any enemies.

We didn't originally plan to but so many people have been asking about mobile that I downloaded the SDKs gave it a shot. It doesn't look as good of course but it runs at 60fps at what looks like 1080p on my phone... Didn't expect that at all! We will likely still release on PC first, but mobile may not be as impossible as I originally thought... -Ango

For those interested, it's called a "low percent speedrun" If you did a 15 min speedrun and I did a 3h one but with 1 less item than you, I have the WR A good exemple is the low percent of twilight princess which is at something like 16h because of faulty looping animation that allow the slowest skip in the history of speedrun

Do different spells have different animation lengths? Because i can tell you that if a slash animation can save 3 moves but the animation means they lose 5 frames overall they will pick the one with more moves.

i think you should have some way to indicate which side is which number, since that influences the strength of abilities. it would be tough to guess if one loses track.

Now, would speed running for this game be based on the number of moves or the time it takes to perform said moves?

Good question! The time it takes to do one move at the moment is limited by the animation speed, making it currently a hard limit (outside of glitches) of 5 moves per second. So my thinking is that you'd really be competing to be the first to find a build and route with less moves, rather than the lowest time, since the lowest time has a relatively easy to hit hard limit. Then again, speedrunners often do completely unexpected things, and also Dion has some absolutely crazy stuff planned that we haven't even begun to show off, so maybe I'm totally off... -Ango
