The voice over for this video was mentally draining for me. There are only four drastically different lines, but I don’t like my own voice. Recording this voice over took weeks while the editing took days. Those four lines may seem cringy or annoying, but it is something I needed to do. I need to stop being untrue to myself and be me. I hope you all can understand as I work on my voice and become more comfortable with myself.

@DanteTorn Жыл бұрын
I've never understood why people struggle with it. Any time I've done it I pretty much just run straight behind him and go for the very tip of the tail. I'm not saying that you or anyone is bad or that I'm good, I'm just a little confused. Maybe I'm just lucky. Maybe my thousands of hours in Monster Hunter getting part breaks has made tricky tailcuts as muscle memorized to me as breathing.

Running there is the problem. Even with a spear, I was hard pressed to reach it before he turned around or just attacked with it. Soul Spear, of all things, is the way to go.

@anstorner Жыл бұрын
@@DanteTorn Maybe because Seath has an attack when you are behind him, that usually oneshots you or deals like 90% of tankier builds, and if you aren't using Halberts (Long range and extremely fast and damaging running attack) it becomes an ordeal, and because of what counts as a tail is difficult to correctly land attacks on it specifically at the tip and not just behind it. And because you specifically need either ninja flips or low loading to reach it in time because he moves alot.
@chaoticstarfish3401 Жыл бұрын
@@DanteTorn I struggled massively the first time I got it: Seath would constantly be turning around faster than I could sprint, and his tail would often clip through walls and be unreachable. I also dealt very little damage and took too much because I had no idea what I was doing with stats and upgrades; it was Hell. In every subsequent attempt, I realized that I was either inconceivably incompetent or very unlucky - probably a bit of both - because there was almost no issue.

this is a serious question and not trying to be offensive, why do a lot of trans ppl feel the need to alter their voice? why not just use your regular voice? i thought most trans ppl thought that sex and gender are different, why would you feel the need to alter something biological when that isnt technically the problem? and isnt the whole thing about accepting your self? genuinely curious, not trying to be rude
@Pebbeyt6 ай бұрын
@@qostal Most of us want to change out voices because its a way of expressing our gender. It also helps you align yourself with your perceived gender more easily, its great to LOOK like your preferred gender, but for a lot of people it can really bother them to not also SOUND like their preferred gender. So while your voice is biological in a sense, it’s also one of the ways your gender is perceived by yourself and other people. If your voice doesn’t align with your gender, then you change it, same way would your body or the way you dress didn’t. Talking about “accepting yourself”, for lots of people it is about that, but accepting that you’re trans is only the first step. After you do accept it, you want to express it. Thats why people change parts of them after they realise and accept that they are trans. And btw, sex and gender ARE different, changing a part of you that is biological doesn’t conflict with that belief. It’s all about expression. Changing my voice doesn’t equate changing my sex, even if they are both biological aspects of me. For the same reason that surgically changing my sex organs doesn’t actually change my sex at birth. They’re all just ways to get closer to your preferred gender, and if changing your body or your voice are the things they need to feel like who they are, then they do that. PS. Sorry if that was kinda redundant, but a lot of the reasoning overlaps so there isn’t much of a way to explain it all without repeating stuff. And thanks for just asking about it! Anytime the community can help others to understand is a win, so if you’ve still got questions just go ahead and ask! Id love to clear up any confusion and welcome you as another ally ❤

I have always hated my voice so it's nothing new to me and I just want to change it

Tail cuts are referenced in DS3 with the Tailbone Spear/Dagger. The tailbone seems linked to the "Tail Gate"/"Wei Lu(?)" from Qigong (Chinese internal alchemy), hence also the Vertebra Shackles. The word for tailbone is biryokotsu, biryo referring to the "tail gate", a hole in the bottom of the ocean where water endlessly leaks away (c.f. Dark Sigil).

@KindlyMino Жыл бұрын
My answer is most likely similar from everybody else's, but TransVoiceLessons on KZbin. She has good videos that help, but I understand that it can be hard. She offers vocal coaching and there are other vocal coaches out there. Only issue is it is expensive. Vocal coaching is something I want to do someday, but hundreds of dollars is a lot. With self teaching and motivating yourself I struggle with that. My vocal training has been for a while, but very on and off. I remember times of hearing my own voice while training and giving up. Similar thing with voice overs, but be yourself and find what makes you happy. That is something so simple that I just had to learn. I got so tired of the pain I had recording my voice that I just decided to do what makes me happy. Every once in a while recording I slipped into a more feminine voice and I realized that made me happier. I enjoyed my voice overs more and had an easier time during the process. Granted my coping skills are most definably not good ones, so I don't want to share them. My advice is not the best. I don't want to say anything wrong. There are people way more knowledgeable than I am. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I know you can do it.

The name of the area in Japanese is 灰の湖(Hai no Mizuumi) which, translates to literally Ash Lake. So no, unfortunately it was not mistranslated, but I have never stopped to really notice that the Ash Lake indeed is more like an Island/Peninsula than a lake lol (unless we implying the water is land as said) Other than that, amazing video and pretty chill speedrun, love these

Regarding Kalameet, I know for a fact you don't need to initiate the fight. I've managed to unlock Gough's dialogue by just running to the waterfall, where Kalameet flies overhead, then going down to kill the Crystal Lizard and, of course, reaching the arena but dying from fall damage. So perhaps you need to die in the arena? Since you Darksigned away, the game may not have counted that as a failed attempt at Kalameet.

I don't know if Elden Ring has tail cuts, but you can chop off a land octopus's tentacles to minimize his threat potential

Hey I'm so stoked to find out my new favourite Dark Souls youtuber ends up being one of us! Those lines you recorded sound like you might already have someone you're practicing with, but if you need some help, feel free to reach out. I'm a vocal coach and conduct a small trans community choir here in Berlin. As a musician it's not easy for me to support channels financially so if I can help in other ways, I'm always glad :)

Thank you so much! I have not really been practicing with anybody. Coaching would defiantly be a help. Let me know how I can reach you so we can discuss this some more.
