Speedrunning petty crime in Oblivion (User Quests Day 2)

Our second user submitted TES quest. You'll never believe this. Things actually go really well!! The rules of this challenge are simple. Fence 500 gold worth of items from every major city in the game. If jailed or killed, restart that city. 3 hours from the end of first Thieves' Guild quest.

I remember one of the few times I played oblivion (least fav TES game) I had an invincible guard chase me literally all the way across the map and into a house. Then I went back to Morrowind where I can make my own choices on who to kill.

I played a run of Fallout 3 many years ago where I intentionally made myself an alcoholic as soon as I left the vault. The rule was that I couldnt cure it at a doctor, I just had to live with it. As a result my character immediately became a thief to support their habit. Unfortunately, that game makes you a zillionaire in very little time so the gimmick wore off pretty fast. But in the beginning it was great fun when I was reduced to sneaking around and stealing all manner of booze from the bars in Megaton just to alleviate the debuffs.

@DietJoov A Skyrim or Oblivion playthrough where you can only do quests that you discover through: rumors, conversation, and overhearing NPCs. Challenge is won by maxing out personality (oblivion) or mercantile (skyrim)

The more I play Starfield, the more disappointed I am with the AI. Even in oblivion, shopkeepers closed, went home and went to bed, came back in the morning. People lived lives. Everyone in starfield is a robot in a dead universe

Yeah outside of key moments they don't actually live in the world! It's THE key element in their games. It's subtle but it's why Skyrim feels like a warm blanket! It took quite a while to realize it but once I did I was sad :/ - It's probably cope but I hope it was just a result of trying to do the whole "Massive universe" thing. A smaller universe with maybe 5-10 star systems may have been easier to handle and make feel real, but I don't know much about making games.

Well, speaking of Sports... I'm from the Pacific Northwest. So the response to my favorite teams generally get a response of "literally who?" or just "Well they're not from East of the Rockies so they're useless and not worth consideration". Because Sports Media is dominated by the Midwest and Atlantic Coast. So even say, when my favorite College Football team (the Oregon Ducks) is completely undefeated, and in fact even CRUSHED the number one ranked team, and won their bowl game... they'll still not even be considered for a championship with people dismissing them as "Well all they have is speed" even though they beat the team declared the National Champions handily. Also... isn't Spacebar the Interact Key in Morrowind? Might be why you keep thinking it.
