I was so happy to find this! Such a killer combination of great writing, production and acting - Gladys Mitchell, Elizabeth Proud, and Mary Wimbush. I saw the TV version with Diana Rigg and was disappointed; it was so far altered from the original that it hardly made sense, a real waste of La Rigg’s talent. Thanks very much for posting it 😊.

OMG that laugh is bonkers! Like a demented Woody Woodpecker. Nearly jumped out of my skin every time. Took me a while to figure out which character it belonged to, given the various interior monologues/shifting narrators, and the way it would erupt out of nowhere.

This was excellent! I don't usually like Dame Bradley as a character and here I really disliked the raucous laughter. However the acting is wonderful, and once when it went to a "musical interlude" I had to check the time bar because I really didn't want the play to be over! Thank you very much.

I was sad Mary Wimbush only played her twice. This was my first introduction to the Dame Bradley character and no one else can truly make her as likeable and enjoyable.
