Nice, I'll have to get one. I still can't bring myself to hand launch, I've been bitten by a 5" one time and still brings back bad memories, I rather deal with bringing a landing/takeoff pad

I've been hand launching for years. I comes from flying in too many inhospitable uneven places.

Hello. I am just about to finish almost the same build with moonlight walksnail. Only difference are the motors xing 2207 1800 kv. I am glad that i picked almost the same parts as you and you have also the pid setup here :-) my only question is whether you flashed your esc to bluejay or kept as blheli? Thank you for nice video :-)
@WhirlyBloke3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the nice comment. I've been using bluejay on all my builds recently. Now blheli has gone, I think it's the right way to go until AM32 is more widely tested on more boards.

Nice build 👌. I have a couple more months of trial and error to learn how to build like that. 👍

Thanks matey! Just take it slow and easy, plan everything out, measure twice and cut once. Use a good quality soldering iron and loads of flux. Clean everything up with IPA and you'll be building like a champ in no time. I've done a couple of very detailed 'how to' builds previously, but the feedback is, they're too long and quite boring.

@@damaca_fpv Before you disappear down a tuning rabbit hole, try bumping your throttle idle up a bit. Throttle chop bobbles (throbbles) were a big problem on my early INAV cinelifter builds and that sorted it. I think it's cos they are quite heavy and react fast to throttle chops. Let me know how it goes.

@@WhirlyBloke 😅 I am at the bottom of the hole right now. I was able to pid tuning for a regular flight, but “hard” movements like dives and flying backwards are imposible. The nose is all over the place trying to catch up the set point I guess…will try the idle.

@@WhirlyBloke I would like to share a screenshot with you. I don’t know if it is normal, but after a punch, at zero throttle the pitch Iterm goes flat suddenly on Blackbox Explorer, and gyro star to lag a lot behind set point, at the same time feed forward seam to do nothing on that instant

@@WhirlyBloke Thank you again. I'm sorry, I do have one more question if you don't mind. Since I want to install a GPS, it looks like I will have to install the FC/ESC stack backwards in order to have the XT60 come through the front. However, I don't want to do that, since it will mess up the length of all the other cables from the connectors on my F7 V3 stack. If I mount the FC/ESC stack facing forward, is there enough room between the stack to pull a long XT60 pigtail through to the front?
@WhirlyBloke6 ай бұрын
@Binkoro It depends on the diameter of the noise suppression capacitor you use. There's not a huge amount of room between the vertical plates, but I'm sure you can make it fit. Personally, I'd keep the stack the correct way around and use longer GPS wires etc. I'm not a fan of long battery leads. They are harder to route, and there's more cable length to radiate all that nasty high energy noise.
@Binkoro6 ай бұрын
@@WhirlyBloke thank you again. I will try not to use the long xt60 connector even if I have to extend cables to the GPS, receiver, VTX, and camera. I wish the GPS mount also had a place for the XT60.

Very well explained video. I'm planning to build my own very soon :) What sazi capacitor are you using? I've seen people having trouble with the size that comes in the box.
@iHayri121 күн бұрын
To answer your question, as I am looking into buying the same frame, a 1000uF capacitor does fit which is about 10x20mm but some stacks are shipped with 1500uF which are too thick and do not fit into the cavity.

I do too. I think they're top shelf. Couple weeks ago my 7" went down about a mile from home in about a square mile of grassy field. My GPS and OSD record failed and a three hour foot search by two people and a dog turned up nothing. I finally found the quad after dark thanks to the LED strobe beacon on the ViFly Finder 2. Now all my builds present and future will sport one.

Not yet. I tend to only go down that route when I can't get a quick tune by feel. Low resonance frames like this one and the AOS frames are so easy to tune cos they behave themselves. I will get some data when I have time.
