Thanks Chris, it was great to see professional riders tackling roads and climbs I’m fortunate enough to be able to ride on a daily basis. I thought the route was excellent especially the section from Pendeen to St.Ives which is one of my absolute favourite sections of road to ride. It was also brilliant to see my home town of Penzance being put on the map, sometimes it feels like we are forgotten down here….Hopefully we in Cornwall can become a regular fixture in the Tour of Britain in the years to come.

Thanks for this insight, Chris. Also great to see Saint Piran riders lighting up the race. Ive few links with Cornwall but you’re certainly a great ambassador for it!

Great interview and insight. What a guy Dave is so thanks to him for bringing it here. Was a brilliant day watching the race. Thanks to the guy who designed the route too, he didn't do a bad job 😉

Thank you! Dave really is a great person. Just a shame we couldn't see the route from the helicopter shots, but at least they had the true Cornish weather!

@@chrisopie87 Yes that was a shame. Was lovely and sunny for me at the finish tho. They say the sun shines on the righteous 😁

Dave. What a hero for Cornwall! He had a vision, and although it wasn't easy, he stuck with it and accomplished it. :) I'm curious, Chris. Would you say that you enjoy watching bike racing, or does it just make you frustrated that you're not in there yourself? :P

I absolutely love watching it. The memories of how tiring and painful it can be are fresh in my mind. Nothing matches the atmosphere of watching it roadside like last week. The only bit that is a little sad is my kids don't really remember watching me race 😅

Chris are you no longer a Saint rider? Wonder why someone of your power, physically, wasn’t riding it?? Great video as always

The secret is out. I’ll explain more in a video, but lots of things have changed since the pandemic!

Thoroughly enjoyed and felt genuinely privileged to have met and spoken to David whilst down in Penzance (thanks again for the mobile phone intro Chris). Fabulous work done by all - without such hard work we wouldn’t get to have such wonderful bike events - and that 1st stage was truly fabulous. Chapeau indeed
