sorry for the videos poorer quality than usual.(saying it like my normal videos have any resemblance of quality) reason being I've been having some issues that I hesitate to call art block as its more that I keep dropping things halfway through because they aren't good enough. so i needed to get something out to get me out of the hole i was it. now that this is posted i feel alot lighter and hopefully will stay out of the hole for a bit longer now.

The idea that to use magic requires sacrifice and identity-altering changes to the body makes me wonder about how magic users differ from the general population where only certain types of people become magic users. This could be very interesting when it comes to the social and political status of the caste of magic users.

I love how these vids tie and weave into each other lore wise. The two warring countries who fight over their philosophies (Verus and Ram) are directly tied to Yhorm and his imprisonment (I don't know if it is confirmed to be the same pillars but if so). That is so cool and intriguing for worldbuilding. When either society or if they reach their goal will they be able to bring change upon the land by freeing or interacting with Yhorm? (How will Ram react to Yhorm's figure or how will Verus react to the mechanism or discovery at the top of the pillars? Can Verus free Yhorm from one of his shackles? Can Ram profit off of Yhorm's blood mana wise. So many cool potential stories that build off of this and it all feels believable context wise.

I HAVE AN IDEA: (sorry for yelling) I think it would be cool to have some healing magic/spells just straight up reform flesh back into its original shape instead of create new flesh or ‘heal’ flesh. Kind of like how one would sustain an injury but in reverse. This magic could be extremely painful if not paired with some form of numbing. I also think it would be interesting to see this magic cause flesh to morph around objects such as knives, if healed wile a thing is obstructing the wound. (I haven’t watch you in a while so I’m not sure if you already have something similar to this😅… Love ur stuff btw!)

As a mage I can tell you there’s another way to gain access to mana without surgical modification. Learn to draw it in. With your mind. It starts slow but eventually your source starts to open and the mana begins to poor out of your being. Then it’s just output and catalyst.

0:50 that seven fingered hand is so damn cool. I'm definitely gonna steal that for my own worldbuilding. maybe the number of fingers denotes a certain spiritual strength/value? humans have five fingered hands and are fairly close to the gods, animals like cats and dogs are lesser because the fingers are very short but still more valuable. However hooved or cloven hooved animals only have one or two fingers, and are therefore are essentially soul-less. However there's some contention between religions about pigs, because pigs have 4 fingers they're closer to the gods, however they dont have five. So there's an argument about wether or not its ethical to eat pigs. from there on out, people who are particularly magical (wizards, sorcerers, or particularly powerfull holy men) often grow an additional finger, and people born with an additional finger would be treated as holy children and destined for greatness. Naturally this means the royal family and a good chunk of the nobility have six fingers. if you wanna go low fantasy the six fingers are just a genetic defect that's intentionally inbred for, if you go high fantasy the six fingers is a semi-naturally occuring phenomenon caused by magic or the divine.

Hmm, if mana affected by complex patterns, it reasonable to have intent, thoughts and other higher nervous functions as important component to use magic. They are a complex patterns of the brain, after all.
@Scrogan
@Scrogan 8 ай бұрын
Hmm, the kindling doesn’t seem like it’s a hard definition. In the purpose of the fire gunpowder magic, it seems like it’s there to augment the spell, while in the case of kinetic magics it is simply the target. I’d probably want to seperate those two types of magic. For those seeking inspiration for a complex and deterministic magical system, I highly recommend A Practical Guide to Sorcery, an ongoing series of novels you can read all but the latest chapters of for free. It describes a system of magic split into transmutation, which is the manipulation of the laws of physics, and transmogrification, which uses augmentation of cultural associations. This naturally develops into various types of spellcasting, including alchemy, artificery, and divination. It’s truly engineering fiction in a magical world.

Take a nice vacation, remove "KZbin" from your mind for as long as you need (like watching the water settle after throwing a pebble into the center of a lake) Thoughts flow like ripples. How can one 'sea' to the bottom of the lake, when one's past 'ripples' (thoughts, ideas, feelings, etc...) are still vibrating...? It seems in a world like this that natural magic would be mythic, and perhaps where the source of information allegedly came from.
