Not really! Crawford's true level was exposed against Madrimov, a novice who isn't that good a boxer but at least wasn't hampered in anyway (coming off devastating losses previously like Brook and Khan, or coming off a life threatening car accident like Spence Jr here). This fight proves how appalling (due to injuries but also due to never being great himself) SPence Jr was rather than anything about sweet science from Crawford. Crawford's sweet science was utterly exposed when he missed a career high number of punches with an embarrassing level of accuracy and timing against Madrimov and then also got hit with a high career high percentage of punches by Madrimov himself, a mere 12 fight novice who has never shown anything great in his boxing career. Crawford wouldn't stand a chance against Canelo that is not hampered or Golovkin.

LoL anyone that followed Spence knew he was done before he ever took this fight. The car wreck ruined his chin, and it was the only tool he had to make the rest of his style work. Not to mention it hurt his ring iq too because it was a head injury. I don’t even watch this fight because I already knew the outcome. Boxing isn’t much better than WWE now, it’s all scripted and we all already know the winner of every bout. It’s boring now… I just watch highlights and move on. Nothing of value happening in combat sports anymore (except maybe bare knuckle?), it’s all been commercialized and consumer packaged to deliver the most predictable and boring fights imaginable. Not to mention there are very few organic combat sport athletes anymore, they are all carefully crafted personalities from specific families with insider connections to the sport. I don’t know how anyone enjoys this slop anymore… low iq, brain damage, propaganda, take your pick.

Looking back on it, Spence actually fought better than I thought, It's just Crawford's IQ was on another level. You can tell he and his team really studied Errol and prepared for this fight. Particularly taking away Spence's jab which is one the best in boxing. Once he was able to do that, it wasn't much EJ could do to turn the tide of this fight. Best boxing performance I have ever seen especially considering the stakes and the opponent. Almost flawless. If you really want to blow your mind wat h it at 0.75 speed, the level of sophistication is insane. The timing and mastery of rhythm qnd the ability to change it, the feints, distance, angle, variety of targets high/low and weapons, (straight plus hooks and uppercuts), controlling opponent by framing of them after punching or turning them. The way he downloads Spence's whole style for 3 rounds and then dismantles him slowly reminded me a little of Chavez Sr. He would take his time too, let the punishment sink in. This is as good as it gets.

@@Obiamajoyisrmd Yeah, I believe he should have had some type of advantage. Perhaps being the sharper of the two southpaws. Let's say, Crawford was always a southpaw fighter, you'd imagine he would be equally as efficient, but he's not. He goes back and forth. Coming out as southpaw for the entire fight in a stance he doesn't use 100% of his fights as Spence does would sound like a disadvantage. Obviously it was not, because he's that good.

This fight went downhill from the beginning of round 3. Errol started looking for the BIG shots after getting dropped the previous round and forgot all about his gameplan. He stopped jabbing and Crawford started picking up on everything. Great performance from Bud, glad we could go back and watch.

Exactly, after the first knock down. Errol was literally on shaky legs the entire rest of the fight. But he still tried to push forward. Errol in survival is what you saw in this fight. Crawford let him off the hook in the 7th. And carried him until Spence decided to have him end it. And Crawford did. It’s a maturity thing.

Terrance Crawford is a great dude and he showed Spence respect! He carried Spence in the later rounds knowing he could have stopped him early. Classy dude!
