Not really! Crawford's true level was exposed against Madrimov, a novice who isn't that good a boxer but at least wasn't hampered in anyway (coming off devastating losses previously like Brook and Khan, or coming off a life threatening car accident like Spence Jr here). This fight proves how appalling (due to injuries but also due to never being great himself) SPence Jr was rather than anything about sweet science from Crawford. Crawford's sweet science was utterly exposed when he missed a career high number of punches with an embarrassing level of accuracy and timing against Madrimov and then also got hit with a high career high percentage of punches by Madrimov himself, a mere 12 fight novice who has never shown anything great in his boxing career. Crawford wouldn't stand a chance against Canelo that is not hampered or Golovkin.

Before the fight everybody told Crawford "don't stand in front of him". During the fight Spence was told "don't stand in front of him". Also Crawford's jab was pummeling spence, but still the commentators could not see that it was Crawford who also had the advantage in power. It took six rounds until they started to understad who had the power, despite Crawford knocked Spence down on jab in the second.
