I'm crying just watching this story. Spencer is a gem, indeed. It's obvious his family raised him right 😁 Two years ago our precious 16 year old dog, Chazz, died. He was our special furry family member. Wouldn't it be great if our pets could live forever?

I kept getting video recommendations about a bunch of goldies crossing the marathon line in honour of this dog so I came to see what Spencer was all about, and now I’m tearing up! I grew up with golden retrievers, still have one now, so it hit home. That early clip of him in his raincoat determinedly holding onto the flags despite the strong wind really got to me. RIP Spencer. what a special soul.

What a very good boy! Yes, the owner is lucky to have Spencer, but so is Boston. I'm sorry Spencer has had to deal with cancer, but I'm grateful that he has such a loving family/dad, good veterinary care, and that he made it though the cancer. I'm wishing them both a long happy and healthy life.

I've never heard of Spencer before but I just had to look him up when I saw they erected a statue of him, for all that he did. It amazes me how certain dogs can touch so many people's lives like that. He's fantastic. 😊
