Two things I forgot to say: 1) Part of the reason I felt Neymar was so essential in that MSN system is that IMO you could put Peter Crouch as the striker that plays in between Messi and Neymar and he'd still get 30+ goals a season. Not downplaying Suarez' talent but with those two either side you could replace Suarez with a number of top quality strikers and it not effect your form massively. 2) How ginger does my beard look?! Also, it turns out there's a few players with bigger buy-out clauses than £500m already! CR7's is around £700m!!! Would anyone pay that for him at his age? Surely not!

Think of it this way: If Neymar wins the league and Champions league at Barca Messi gets the Ballon'dor. If he does the same at psg yes it may be more difficult but he is getting the Ballon'dor.

How exactly is this ruining football? "Players such as Neymar" were already as greedy as you see them, if this was even about greed. It's true that as long as Neymar would've been at Barca along with Messi, Messi would have had the chance before Neymar to win the Ballon d'Or because Barca revolves around Messi. It's simple. It's also true that this doesn't guarantee PSG a Champions League win, it'll actually put more pressure on them this season.

How is it runing football. This transfer is the best thing to happen to football for so long. Get the best players in the world out of SPAIN!!! get them all around europe, it would make the champions league more interesting, it would make all the other leagues more interesting, it will lead to those other teams being on the level of real and barca which means that all the greatest talent can choose to go anywhere and not always just go the 2 clubs that dominate football. Every time a worldclass player comes out, the question is real or barca and thats it. If ballondor is the reason neymar left, then we should be praising the ballondor, not saying its bad. He went and now he will have a much more challenging career, yes the league isnt the greatest but you really think it was hard for neymar at Barca XD barca only have 4 hard games a season. PSG also have about 4, but maybe even more now that the league is getting better with clubs like monaco. and obviously it will be wayy harder for neymar to win the champions league with psg which is exactly what we want in football!! Challanges, not the same be good, go and join the best team in the world cruise to victory.

Eventually there will be no big transfers because either 1. The money clubs earn keeps on rising drastically so teams stop including release clauses and just refuse all bids because they don't need the money or 2. The amount of money they earn slows down but transfer prices keep going up until no one can afford big players (if this happens, transfer prices will obviously come down after a few years)

Before anyone slates him, he simply had to move. In Barca, he would have been in Messi's shadow for the next 4 years. Meaning he'll be at the end of his prime still in Messi's shadow. Neymar has just hit his prime. He could potentially be better than Ronaldo/Messi or even Pele. Brazil has never had a standout player since Ronaldinho. Neymar is their holy grail. World Cup coming up next year which is a must win for Brazil. Yes the money plays a part but I think he wants that Ballon D'or. He can't get it whilst at Barca. But why PSG? Although the figures talked about are almost incomprehensible i slightly disagree with Spencer describing the spending as unsustainable. Its perfectly sustainable because, for European Clubs, it is being done within the framework of FFP. The clubs are spending lots because they are getting in so much for sponsorship and TV rights. As the sport grows in Asia and emerging markets the finances available for transfers will continue to rise, so spending will be sustainable.

I absolutely agree with this video. However if I was Neymar I'm not too sure I would leave. But I'm not certain I would pick staying or leaving so I understand that he did make a decision he had to make a decision but I don't think any of the two decisions is obviously the best so I won't perpetuate a negative view of neymar due to him leaving my club (yea I'm Barça fan). This is football, transfers happen, time happens players always rotate in and out. Finding players that are good, is a player you (as a hypothetical manager) wouldn't want to let go but is also happy in his position and roles for the club, is the player you want to fill the shoes if his number until it is his time to leave.

It's crazy the amount of time a player can be a top-notch footballer. Half a decade ago, 28 years meant you're way overdue, nowadays 30 years plus and you still got the world's best. Neymar leaving personally hurts, I saw him as the one (probably only one capable) of At least carrying the legacy Messi would leave behind at the club. I hope Barça makes the most of this 200m.
