I grew up in Eastlake and essentially lived at the original Eastlake skatepark. It was truly my home away from home. What was amazing about the original park is we had skateboarders, bladers, and BMXers all sessioning together and having a great time. It wasn’t the greatest park in the world, but it was our park. When the original park was torn down it honestly hurt. A place I spent thousands of hours at over 10+ years was suddenly gone. Fast forward a bit later and there were talks of the city reviving the park. Even though I live out of state now, I became extremely excited. I envisioned being able to teach my daughter to skate at the place I learned. My dream quickly turned into a nightmare when I learned the city would be leaving the new park up to a group of Tech School students with absolutely zero experience on how a skate park should be built. First, I want to say I don’t blame the kids. They did their best with the limited knowledge and skills they had building these types of structures. The city is 100% responsible for essentially wasting taxpayer dollars to build what I can only describe as a death trap. That’s the end of my rant or whatever the hell that was. I shot the first “Brofest” video that featured some of the local skaters and BMXers before the original park was destroyed, which can be found on my channel.

They built the original park and never did a thing for upkeep. All repairs were done by the people who used that park. Then the city decided the park was no longer safe and shut it down. Then this unforgiving, and unbridgeable abomination showed up...

🗣️He has been riding a similar set up for the past few weeks inside his buddy's warehouse facility check videos back on Jay Dalton's channel & you'll see them ride it's exactly like the spine in Spencer's upload. Jay is way better than most people think & very well rounded that's why he started on Scotty's Crammer's KZbin years ago & made his own success off the clout from other sponsored BMX riders introducing him while posting a line or two of Jay doing the craziest hangfives that anyone has ever seen..🚴

parklifelee the city failed us when they left the project up to a bunch of high school kids. You can’t be mad at the kids... they didn’t know better. But the simpletons that thought it was a good idea in the first place need to be held accountable for completely wasting taxpayer dollars on a death trap.
