Jordan Peterson doesn't believe that the narrative (the bible) is the same as the objective. In other words, he doesn't believe the bible. He is not saved and yet he is teaching people about the bible. He needs to be rebuked harshly, he is doing more damage than good

I could not agree more, brother! Other Christians look at me funny when I tell them that I have never watched any of the movies about Jesus. I just don't like the idea of having an image of what someone (especially anyone in wholy-weird) thinks He looks like. I also don't like that in order to make a 2 hour, or longer, movie/show, they have to put in so much filler that just isn't in the Bible. Even children's coloring pages are terribly guilty of it. When I was teaching a children's Sunday school class, I had my son drawing the coloring sheets for me so I could avoid having the dichotomy of Jesus looking like a Little People toy, or like he just got off his photoshoot for a romance book cover.

And IF all Jesus did was be born, be crucified on the cross, and die, what's the relevance? You see what I'm getting at?

I appreciated the first couple of seasons of the Chosen because it stuck very closely to the Biblical stories just with some more beats of "look this is how it could've felt to have lived it" which is engrossing and made me think about the events more... but then the 3rd season added in more odd beats that I was iffy on (the miscarriage plotline) but I could sort of stomach it... but then the 4th season went incredibly off script with the whole non-Biblical character having a dramatic soap opera death and I was like, "This isn't Jesus, this isn't even following scripture anymore." Cause... there's only so much you can stretch credibility in a Bible based show. YES, I can watch Prince of Egypt or Ten Commandments and see "it's basically the bible story but with attention paid to giving it more emotional complexity." BUT what versions like that don't have is the characters doing things that reflect horribly on the Biblical characters. Like would one ever expect to see Jesus deny healing to a faithful disciple who didn't have to die? It's based on NOTHING from the Bible, it's just there cause Dallas wanted to do Bible fanfiction and make it more fancy and dramatic and personally I really dislike it. The seasons that worked were the ones that held closely to the events and stuck to the timeline. Now it's a big old mess and I'm really questioning the validity of how the creators and panel of Christians see Jesus.

I even hesitated to read from a children's Bible to my kids. Because it is a story someone told, based on the Bibel, but it is not the Bible. Therfore I never let my kids watch any cartoons for kids about the Bible and when the chosen was announced I knew, I will never watch it.

Spencer, what do you think about an audio drama of the Bible? Like a dramatic reader's theater style. There would be nothing visual but occasionally it would be hard to discern what the correct inflection should be. Like when Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more. Was it harsh or was it tender and loving? Do you think audio would be dangerous or just artistic interpretation?

If you can actually begin making movies I hope you make them more like educational movies and not dramatic interpretations. Like you said, God has chosen to reveal himself to us, this generation, through a book. Im not sure what you have in mind as far as movies or how you could pull off making full length, non-dramatic sorts of films but Im sure someone out there knows how. Some sort of visualized transcription of the Bible, a literal transcription. If thats even possible.

I also take the Bible literally and when I've watched The Chosen catch when they're a little off from what the Bible says was said or done. I figured this was for theatrics and story line? I really do like The Chosen and how it sparked ppl ( including my dad, 80 ) to pay attention to their Bibles again. My dad was asking me questions, reading scripture before bed and still does....this has been a great thing. Not interested in watching anything olsten, copeland have to say as they are two of the wolves spoke about in the Bible 1,000% Sad when ppl worship this world and the ppl in it but it happens, always has....there is one pedestal with only room for one on it and that's Jesus the Christ, period. I do not believe the show I mentioned is 100% accurate and neither will yours be but I do pray God blesses you to make them and will watch with love and exitement. We weren't there and so some acting is required, I'd think?

I appreciate you for pointing out that The Bible is first and foremost. But I must say, The Chosen is simply a TV show. You can choose to watch The Chosen in the spirit of pure entertainment. Or, you can also choose to watch shows like Sabrina or American Horror Stories or The Walking Dead. In the end, The Chosen show is simply that...a show. And if one does not have the will power to watch The Chosen in fear of being manipulated, then you should really just toss out your tv set. Why stop there, toss out the radio...lots of bad influence. Oh and forget about the internet, rife with influence. In fact, just stay home...why...cuz human beings are bad influences also. Do you understand what Im saying...or not? Your choice.
