You would accrue loyalty points and move up tiers accordingly. My loyalty points are great with Royal Caribbean and the perks are perfect for me. I’d like to use Royal the most when I retire because of it. But as I gain loyalty points through other cruise lines. That might change.

Wish they didn't penalize single cruisers so heavily! LOTS of single people out there who love to do something like this but seems like the cruise lines don't want our money!!

It's frustrating. I do understand since the cruises are selling out all the time with double occupancy and sometimes 3 or 4 people. They have no incentive to take care of solo cruisers. I have several solo cabins booked, but only because it's a free casino comped cruise that doesn't require a 2nd person. I wouldn't be cruising as much without that working in my favor.

I disagree with you saying gratuities are optional. We never have them removed and actually tip extra to our room steward, dining and bar staff because they work hard every day all day!

I do the exact same thing. I never remove gratuities and tip extra. I was trying to avoid the Facebook arguments with the people that feel strongly about removing them. You and I are on the same page! :) Thanks

@Laura-y8n6d watch my tipping video. I agree with you. I can’t put numbers like that for what is someone else’s decision on what to give. We are on the same side of this.
