Wow, Josie, I just paused the vlog because I had to say- the fact that you and Charlie have been thoughtful enough and conscientious enough regarding your guests' experience at Strawtop 1 to only do works on Strawtop 2 when no one is staying at the former is such a testament to how much you value your guests' quality stays! I had actually wondered about that when you first showed the second Strawtop and all the work being done, but it honestly never occurred to me that someone would be as considerate as you two are!

I would feel as if I’m being watched . 😂 I would want it to be my stay and not feel I’m in someone’s house. When I travel if I stay in a hotel I actually bring a photo of lived one who is meaningful to me . 🥰 Also if someone was going through a grieving process whether through death or divorce and wanted to have a quiet time to themselves. I think a wedding photo of someone else would not be appropriate. It’s like selling a house, the same idea that one does not have personal photos around so one can envision the space as one’s place. I think the same principle applies to staying in a place where one really wants a great escape.

The photo is lovely but I personally feel its not appropriate. Yes there will be a hand full of people that could find it charming but there also will be people that don’t. It can make some people feel unrelaxed as if they are in someone else’s home and not like pictures of other people where they are staying trying to relax. Or possibly even a trigger if someone is going through a difficult time relationship wise and are trying to get away. You just never know so I personally think as owners of an air B&B you need to mindful and make sure you make everyone that’s comes to stay comfortable. If I personally would stayed there it wouldn’t be the end of the world for me but I can say I would rather it not be there. Also it can come off a little tacky as some could think why would these people think I want to be looking at their wedding photo.

I’ve been wanting to come and stay at the cottages for some time now. But friends always have us stay with them. I think for my birthday I’ll request a Cotswolds stay from the hubby. When you were eating the beans from the vine I couldn't help but remember getting scolded (in a jovial way) for eating so many when we would shell them with my grandmother. We would sit on our front porch with bushels and work at shelling them. It was strangely fun. Lol

When I go and stay somewhere amazing like this, I like to pretend it is my home and this is my lifestyle so the photo would kind of spoil that slightly for me! Although perhaps I am just rather odd! I found it very beneficial to my trip, when hostels usually have a map board on the wall or in other way, where you can find recommender tourist destinations. Usually recommendations are good and made by hostel workers. Ofcourse you can find from web anything.

I realize that several people have posted to nix the wedding photo. I disagree & here's why... I believe that its a gentle reminder to guests that this is someone else's cared-for home (holiday let), & they should treat it as such. I.e. to treat it as if you were staying in a home belonging to your grandmother, whom you greatly respect. That's it, to treat the building & its contents with as much or even more care than you would your own. And yes, I truely believe that all of that can be conveyed by the presence of that one lovely photo.😊

What a charming video. As you were showing us the Strawtop cottage I saw something very interesting. Charlie kept pulling out drawers, there were leaflets about Cotswolds, and in the middle of the room, I saw 2 chairs. I immediately fell in love with them.
