In this episode I was invited to Newport Beach International Boat Show and I decided to see what kind of yacht I could buy for $2,000,000. We checked out the latest boats from Sunseeker, Pardo, Sirena, Riviera and Prestige.

Best yacht in budget is for sure the "SILENT YACHTS 55". A 55 foot solar catamaran, 27.7 foot beam(wide), Electric motors, 24/7 Airconditioning, has no engines so no high fuel bill just for the backup generator. Pretty sure you would buy a solar catamaran you would end up living in it. Common 24/7 air-conditioning, the ocean life and no electric bill. Why buy a house if you can live on a solar catamaran.

Silent yachts might be in financial trouble. I like the Sunreef solar yachts. More stable financially and I like the style of their yachts. Motor or sail.

Just keep in mind, that 27.7 beam is going to disqualify you from 90% of boat slips for that length of vessel. You’ll be forever chasing the available seawalls and T-heads

Imo the best format of boat is something like the Sunseeker 65 Sportyacht... but that's probably inching itself up to 4m these days. But you could live in it and for cruising up and down cali it's great. 2 million is a wierd place for boats, you don't need that much for an open speed yacht type thingy, and it's not enough for a good live aboard type yacht. Look at me, it's almost like I know what I'm talking about! (I don't)

Black hand rails look great, but when you've been out all day in the sun and put your hand on it, you'll see why it's better to have a handrail that reflects heat, rather than absorbs it!🔥

If you want to cruise comfortably, look at a yacht of 64 foot or longer. The 64 foot is long enough to cut through waves rather than riding up and down waves.

I worked on yachts for years. Yachting in the Med, the Caribbean and Mexico is way more popular than it is on the West Coast. When I joined a yacht in California it was quite a shock at how much different yachts are used in those places versus the weat coast. On the west coast the yachts are used as like day boats, party platforms and ferry. Way different than the liveaboard Yachting lifestyle on the east coast and in a bunch of the Yachting hotspots. I do 'enjoy' when people who don't know anything at about yachts will suddenly start talking about them like they know what they are talking about. You can tell they have no idea what Yachting is about. Riviera makes amazing production yachta. Galeon, Absolute and Riviera make my favorite yachts under 65'. For superyachts it's Bering, CdM, Cheoy Lee, Burger and Mengi Yay. A Bering 72 and I could travel the world. Nordhavn also makes great yachts, but Bering is steel and aluminum so it can go anywhere.

Great Video Adam. I didn't go to the show this year I was out overlanding for a week. The boat you chose was very nice. Just a little info on having to crew for a larger boat. A buddy of mine has a 73-foot yacht and he pilots it and brings it in alone. He has a devise called DOCKMATE. It's a handheld controller that allows you to run the helm from the palm of your hand. So, it's not impossible I don't know if I'd want to try doing it in Catalina due to there not being docks, but once you get good at it, I would think it would be pretty simple. Good to see you back at the sea. keep up the great Vids.

In terms of boats, with space, that can go far, there are really only two options. 1) a trawler yacht that sips fuel and goes 8 knots, but could get you to the Galapagos Islands and beyond, and power catamarans, that have apartment levels of space and cabins, and likewise have crazy range. In terms of a $2m budget, that starts to narrow things down somewhat, and as with many things in life, if you went for preowned, then you get far more bang for your buck.

go for the sunseeker manhattan 55. best value for money. The Prestige under budget and similar space than any open boats or just dayboats can offer - very limited use and hard to sale if market goes down

The best new yacht this year is the Pearl 72, its perfect, its a shame they didn't have a Sirenna 88 those are amazing to but for under $2 million you can get a 64 Galeon which is amazing.

The Prestige did offer everything you would need except for the range but am sure a larger tank could be fitted. But the one single thing which would make your journey would be having Taylor amongst your crew. Very attractive good sense of humour all you could want in a woman… just don’t let her near a sale of anything lol

Hey, is Producer Michael finished for you, he's in LA isnt he ? Best boat for less than 2m would be the Princess 65s, maybe 2 years old less than 2m. Galleon has lots of special bits. Prefer you on your own, without Producer M btw. Sunseeker does a similar style to the Princess 65s. (78s is actually best but about 3m second hand).
