Gambling is a good use of your gold if you have a goal. Trying to get astramentus is a bit much, but there's plenty of other good items you can craft. I need a better amulet so if I accidentally get astra by doing that, why not?

Man, that 20 million gold is worth 40-80 divs if you just played on the currency exchange buying low and selling high with something like exotic coins or some other high-volume item. I typically make 1 ex per 2-3k gold and I'm not even maximizing my returns. That said, I don't blame anyone for playing the gamba :)

@@FswithFarham A couple minutes of interacting with the market every day and then just waiting for the orders to fill. I bounce between overnight buying to sell the next day and then sometimes I buy and sell shorter orders in-between running maps. I've stuck with exotic coins because I'm familiar with the market, but they typically have a spread of 30 points. I.E. You can buy them at 1.4 and sell at 1.7 ex pretty consistently within minutes. So, set a couple 50-100 coin buy orders at around the going rate and ahead of any big orders for thousands. Then when you hop out of a map, flip whatever was filled to sell orders and hop into another map. The market can obviously move and do weird things, but I've never lost currency, just didn't make as much and paid more gold per exalt. Today, the coins are flipping quickly between 1.6 -1.9 in minutes. Sometimes I buy even lower, but it will just take time to sell. I have a bunch of orders in at the 1.2-1.35 range that didn't fill overnight. Cancelling them will forfeit my gold, but from my experience they will eventually fill so I'm not too worried about it at the moment. If I wanted to, I could just cancel them and fill them for 1.6, but I've got a couple thousand exalts, so no need to liquidate those positions. If you want to just get your feet wet to understand the market. Buy a couple 10 coin positions for whatever the spread is. So, right now as I'm typing, I'd buy 10 for 16/17 ex. Then sell 10 coins for 19/20. That will cost you like 10k gold per transaction netting you 2-3 ex per 10kish gold. As you get to know the market and feel comfortable with 100 coins costing 140-160 ex's per transaction, you can snipe ahead of transactions that round to the tenth decimal place by going to the hundredth without spending time to math out the fractions as hard. The better you understand the market, the better your return per gold spent will be.

@@FswithFarham Not long in terms of interaction time. A lot less than sorting through rings to find any that are valuable. You can either do large bulk orders with a little risk of being hedged out by people sniping ahead of you in queue but typically fill overnight/day, or you can be a bit more active and do the sniping in-between maps. It only takes me like 10 seconds to set up my buys and sells between maps and I usually make 15-30 ex per transaction. I'll use Exotic Coins as an example because it has been my bread and butter and I feel comfortable with them, but you could do this with any currency that has high vollumes. Right now, as I type this, the spread is about 30-40 points. So a good time to snipe IMO. They are being bought and sold between 1.55-1.95 give or take a couple tenths. To get your feet wet, if the market looks the same whenever you see this, I'd start with putting in a couple orders for 10 exotic coins for 16 and 17 exalts. Then go do a map. When you come out, the orders will likely have been filled and then you list those exotic coins for 18/19 exalts. Rinse and repeat. Now, that was just to get you use to how the transactions work. When you feel comfortable, you can learn to put in bigger orders and slide in-between the bulk order guys. So, say someone has an order to buy 1500 exotic coins at 1.6 ex. You don't want to buy them at that price, because you'll be in queue behind them. So, you'd want to buy 100 coins for 161 ex (1.61 ex per coin). You'll be sniping buys in front of them, and then you'd list them in the same way. If someone has an order to sell 800 coins for 1.9 ex, you'd want to put an order to sell 100 coins for 189 ex. And assuming no one else does the same to you, they will fill pretty quickly. The risk with bigger orders is that sometimes someone will cut the line and adjust the spread. This isn't the worst-case scenario, but it will slow down on how quickly you flip a profit. Throughout the day the exotic coins for the last week have swung between 1.3-2.0, but last night they didn't drop below 1.4, so they might be going up in price. The bigger orders of multiple hundreds or thousands usually eventually fill or if you cancel them you'd lose the gold, so I've stuck 100-coin orders and sales at different spreads to keep my risk of losing gold lower. The bigger the spread, the more exalts you make per gold spent. Just keep an eye on where the big orders are make sure that spread is bigger than .2 and you shouldn't have a problem with turning 5k gold into an exalt. I typically try to aim for a .3 spread which nets me like 1 ex for 2.5-3k gold. I also want to say that my estimate of 40-80 divs was before I noticed the ex/div ratio blew up. But the point still stands, gold can be converted to exalts pretty easily with very little time invested once you understand how to list and buy quickly. I basically flip 60k gold for 25-30 ex every other map I run and spend maybe 15 seconds of my time for them.
