If we’re never going to reach perfection, why should we try? As far as I know, Islam wants us to better and better and keep bettering ourselves which is so overwhelming. No matter how much I try to be a good person or a better person, I am not appreciated; rather I am always criticized by people. Even when people don’t criticize me, the lectures, khutbahs that I listen to always talk about what Muslims should do or what we are lacking as a community or which areas we need improvement in. I get so overwhelmed and burned out by all these. If whatever I do or try to do is not good enough and it is never going to be good enough, why should I keep trying? Isn’t this version of mine enough for me as a Muslim? Isn’t it enough that I tried this much?
