On today's autism family vlog: we picked Andy up from his respite care in Boston, and in addition to his usual routine of riding the lifts, walking around The Stump and using the ATM, he also had some pocket money to spend so we took him to B&M to choose what he wanted to buy.

A boy in my school has autism, you definitely deal with it better than my teachers. All they do is shout at him then he starts crying and/or gets really angry.

Hey! Does Andy like trains? I love them and if he does there's always the talyllyn railway in Wales, they have a museum which has the rev Wilbur Awdry's office, containing some pretty cool Thomas stuff, this is because the engines of the talyllyn were the bases of the engines of the skarloey railway. They do also have some special events which could be nice for you and Andy, events can include: Duncan day, late night steam etc. The staff are really friendly and accepting, in non covid times they let some people stand on the footplates of the engines for photos. The town also has multiple ice cream places and is generally quite nice.

Seems surreal taking a video tour around my home town via your vlog, I never knew there was a respite service in Boston, I work for a leading learning disability charity and when looking after people in Boston and surrounding areas we where told there is no such service for our clients in that area (closest being skegness apparently)
