Spent 4 years in Cape Town and am now residing in Gauteng. I've tried many times to explain what sets Cape Town apart from the rest of the country, to my friends who've never visited, and you've managed to depcit all of it in this one video. I'll just show them this now. Thank you.

I'm from Cape Town and lived in Japan for 5 years (Hiroshima ken) and wish I could meet up with you to just talk about our experiences. As a Japanese citizen, I can just imagine the culture shock but it is also refreshing to see how you've opened yourself up to the SA culture. I think this is important if you really want to immerse yourself in a foreign country.

As for your channel direction 1. your major strength in my opinion is you are sincere and very personable so the effect is naturally easygoing and charming. There's nothing to put us off and your delivery is pleasant. So whatever content you choose to give us, as long as it's interesting, will work. Obviously your subscribers like travel and/or SA so you'd probably want to stay on those lines. 2. There is so much in SA to look at and share, so if you set about viewing it all it'd take you a month of Sundays. Don't just google for places, ask friends for the tiny points of interest that the tourist guides don't know about. For example, walk on the railway line from Wilderness to Victoria Bay, it's incredible on a sunny day. Go boating on the Coke coloured waters of the Kaaimans river that rail line crosses, and visit the waterfall by boat. Go rockpooling at Buffelsbaai, half an hour's drive from there. There's an incredible rockpool far away at the end of a long beach south of the town near a river's exit. Though you may have to go there at low tide. Go sailing at Swartvlei. Or for another example go up the white sands of the West coast, deserted for 100s of miles, and walk naked on the beach like my sister and her husband did. :) Catch and eat your own crayfish there. Make a curry of them the locals will show you how, it's awesome. Or for another example, visit an ostrich farm near Oudtshoorn and take walk through the semi-desert looking for seashells. Visit the Kango Caves while you are there. See the twisted rocks of Meiringspoort all buckled in their layers showing how they were soft and melted when they formed. 3. And during your trips to those places and walking about them you are bound to find your own individual interesting experiences. I'll never forget staying at a hotel on the South East coast (I forget the name of it) on honeymoon, and the maid blasting her way in at 8 am without a knock, using her master key. It was an old-fashioned door with a big key and the lock was on a housing mounted onto the door, so I dropped a spoon handle through it in such a way as to bar it. The next morning she tried so vigorously to enter the room!! 4. Another thing you can do is talk to people there and ask them a bit about their own and family history and race's history. The country is a fascinating intermingling of cultures and events.

Nicely done, a lot of fun to watch. Going there soon for a SA tour and this just validated my decision and anticipation. As an aside, decades ago girls began to emerge as the smartest most capable students in a class, but socially the universal inexplicable experience is that when with men they habitually play the role of dour inanimate rocks on the other hand videos such as this show that when in similar company their intelligence, adorable theatrical expressiveness and humor, and keen observation are brightly illuminated.

For your first December I would definitely recommend you guys do the Garden Route. My family and I used to stay 1-2 nights in each place starting in Plett and moving on to Knysna, Wilderness, George (Vic Bay), Herold’s Bay, Hartenbos and ending in Mossel Bay. Plenty to see and do. Just so you know that doughnut type thing is called a Koesister not a koeksister. Koesister is a doughnut with coconut sprinkles. A koeksister is dough that is fried and twisted into a plat of dough. Then dunked in hot syrup to allow for good soaking.
