Axel, there are play-offs for promotion to the SPFL. The Highland League play the winners of the Lowland League. It should have been Buckie Thistle V East Kilbride, but East Kilbride got two walk-over games, each 3-0 (6-0) Reason; Buckie Thistle forgot to fill in forms over months before, to comply with SPFL stadium upgrades. Brechin City who formally were a SPFL club were absolutely livid as they finished 2nd in the league to Buckie. Brechin are fully compliant with SPFL stadium requirements. It has been suggested that Buckie did this on purpose to avoid the expense of stadium upgrades and future travel expenses to away games out-with the Highlands.
