I actually would love a Halo game where you got to run around in SPI armor. Yeah you loose the shields and serious armor protection, but if you're the kind of person who prefers stealth and picking your fights SPI would be perfect for that mentality. Would present a decent challenge in my opinion, no longer can you tank and keep on tanking through. Now you got to really consider your tactical options and what you have at your disposal.

@@alphabroncotwozero392 Not really, Reach was more of a classic Halo game and had you fighting alongside a squad. What I'm talking about would be more of a stealth game, probably equipping you with the prototype SPI armor that has energy shields. Little to no friendly NPCs. Much less vehicle combat. Just kind of throws you into an open map with a goal and you get to decide the best way to proceed. More Sniper Elite-ish.

In an earlier video, you noted that ower Spartans are canon. Hear is my head cannon. For those of us who have been fans sense Halo combat evolved's release in November 15 2001 or later, your Spartan is a surviving Spartan II. For those of you who joined latter with Halo Reach from September 14 2010 or later like myself, your Spartan is a surviving Spartan III. For the rest of us who joined with halo 4 from November 6 2012 onwards, your Spartan is a newly minted Spartan IV.
@PackHunter117
@PackHunter117 5 жыл бұрын
nick However if you look at the canon there’s no where near that many potential surviving Spartan 2s and 3s. It’s more likely that all of us are apart of the Spartan 4 program running through simulations in multiplayer. And actual missions in Spartan Ops.

@@PackHunter117 first no john 117 and the other Spartans would not be aware of the additional Spartan II and Spartan III soldiers, it's what O.N.I does best. Second the only reason I need to believe that O.N.I would make more "in secret" would be the success of Spartan black team, and the Spartan III head hunter's. I sincerely cannot believe that O.N.I would restrain itself from making more Perfect Blackops Kill teams. Some of witch would be later integrated and hidden in plain sight as Spartan 4's.

O.N.I has done far worse and far harder to believe this, like trying to weaponize the flood for starters. And to answer how many there would be, I honestly don't know, but with O.N.I logic a safe guess would be"as many as it takes". Spartan III soldiers were made to be mass produced and disposable, and as for the additional Spartan II soldiers, probably a minimum of 1000. Spartan II class 2 & 3 anyone. It would make more sense to distribute the SPI armor to the ODST. They go on Covert missions that require stealth. Photoreactive plates would help immensely with that. Rather than equipping a bunch of Spartan 3s with them, and sending them full sprint into a covenant stronghold, or refinery.

What I never got is that if you're literally facing the extinction of your species, why didn't the UNSC just nationalize all war related industries and not pay for any of it? You save on budget by making your contractors government employees and paying them salary instead of licensing fees, inflated prices due to profit, inefficiencies, etc. Not to mention any civilization that is able to create technology capable of propelling vessels faster than life would be a Socialist society since FTL technology isn't a super profitable technology. So the whole idea of the Halo Universe being a Capitalist one is a laughable idea. But again even in that universe it makes no sense for the UNSC to worry about cost when they could and in real life would have just nationalized everything they needed and basically told the contractors give us your shit for free or at cost because if you don't we'll all die. TL;DR every Spartan would have had MJOLNIR armor because the UNSC would have nationalized war industries. Or in the MOST realistic world EVERY soldier would be a Spartan and would have MJOLNIR Armor because it would be a Socialist society and profit was in the barbaric past (cough today cough).

Actually Halo is not post scarcity. Think each planet as its own nation with limited resources and capabilities. So there has to be some independent economies of capitalistic nature to take into account each planet. Socialism only works in small scale( small clans and family units) other than that a market based economy although not perfect is much better than a planned economy.
@peperlover99

Barry Bend First I want to thank you for taking my comment seriously and not just blindly screaming “But Venezuela!” And signing off. For all practical purposes, even our own solar system has an infinite amount of raw materials just in the asteroid belt alone. With a functionally infinite amount of solar systems in our galaxy to exploit post scarcity although not TECHNICALLY achieved, is functionally achieved. Also look up Catalonia from 1936-1939, Socialism (specifically Anarchism) worked so well for them that Francisco Franco destroyed the factories and other collectively owned means of production when he conquered them because they were more efficient than Capitalist run means of production. On a side note: you can have markets in a Socialist economy. I’m personally not a fan of them but they are possible.

@@peperlover99 but the balance of it is so fine that its better to try and make a solid economic structure with fluid adjustability. Basically even though cosmically the resources are infinate the time and manpower to get it is not. You can only get so much at one time. I think how badly the IIIs were handled with SPI armor instead of just battery-powered MJOLNIR was for narrative reasons in Ghosts of Onyx. We were supposed to be explained about how the IIIs are clearly an outright improvement on the IIs in every way, and then realize that they were being purposely screwed over by Ackerman out of sheer hubris with the kinds of missions they were sent on and the explanation about SPI armor. We learn about these things, realize the potential, and learn about their casualties and are like "What the fuck?" and then we realize Ackerman is, in fact, basically a traitor purely for the sake of his massive, butthurt ego.

Aside from their augmentations, the S-III's differed from their predecessors in one very key way: Motivation. The III's were conscripted from vengeful war orphans, unlike the II's who grew up in a time of relative peace. They were more lively and aggressive than Spartan II's who'd no doubt heard of the exploits of the legendary Spartans, and were, again, motivated to live up to the expectations placed on them. Of the armor combinations best resembling SPI in Halo: Reach that had been recognized this one actually fits the bill best: Pilot helmet Gold visor ODST shoulders FJ/Para Knees All else default Sage Green, Maroon, and Steel coloration have been seen in more closely associated canon. Chest, wrist, and utility are default due to soldiers on the field who use SPI not being seen using supplemental armor, storage, or any such worn gadgets. The choice of FJ/Para knees and ODST shoulders are chosen for their maximum coverage and minimal profile.

I always thought Spartan IIIs were superior to Spartan IIs. Their augmentations were far less invasive due to the fact that they were chemical and they had refined the process to the point of a 0% mortality rate by the time Gamma Company came around in Ghosts of Onyx. They were just as strong as Spartan IIs (though the only time you ever really got to see this was in Reach due to the fact that Noble team had received MJOLNIR armor, you'd be forgiven for thinking they were weaker due to the fact that you almost always see Spartan IIs in MJOLNIR armor which has a far greater strength multiplying effect than SPI.) So if you were to put a Spartan II and III together in the same room with no armor or the same armor they would be just as fast and strong as eachother. The only reason anyone considers IIIs to be inferior is because the majority of them never received MJOLNIR. Combine this with the fact that they put far greater emphasis on training the IIIs to be superior tactical thinkers in order to compensate for their lack of top-tier equipment and you have soldiers that are all masters of battlefield tactics on an individual and group level. Not only this but many Spartan IIIs also seemed to be trained in a wide variety of technical skills like Noble 6 being a pilot in the top secret SABRE program and Kat's superior cyber warfare skills. The most obvious advantage over the IIs would be that there's more of them. The final advantage they have over Spartan IIs in my opinion, and one of the most important, is that they're not complete emotionally suppressed automatons. Spartan IIs are practically fleshy robots that almost never display any kind of emotion, even to eachother a lot of the time even though they consider their team members to be their family. Spartan IIIs on the other hand seem to be a much more close-knit group, with all members of a company considering eachother family instead of just the fireteams they got paired up with. Not only this but the increased empathy they have for eachother and other fellow humans could potentially give them a well of strength to draw from in times of desperation and could possibly turn them into far more savage combatants than even the Spartan IIs. All that being said, I'd take a company of Spartan IIIs in SPI armor over a fireteam of Spartan IIs in MJOLNIR Mk VI any day. Spartan IIIs don't get enough love and get a reputation for being inferior due to the fact that they were intended to be sent on suicide missions. If they had been deployed in the same manner that the IIs had then they would have got the love they deserved, not to mention they probably could've had a more impressive service record.

I agree 100% with you and I think if SPI armor was made to be just as good if not better due to the camouflage systems which MJOLNIR lacked, many people wouldn't think so lowly of them and maybe would even consider them their favorite generation of Spartans. I also thought they should of made specific versions of the SPI armor for ODST's and marines and one made just for Spartan IIIs so the gap between MJOLNIR and SPI could be closed or at least be made a lot smaller but because of time constraints and budget limits, this wasn't possible. It sucks these warriors get disrespected so much.
