Been a fan of Spice since I was a kid, but Big Bro...nobody is using the N-word referring to someone as a God and King. It's a convenient coincidence that negus means king in Ethiopian Semetic language so we make this association to make ourselves feel better about a word that has been used as one of the many instruments of oppression for centuries. The N-word as we know it comes from the Spanish/Portuguese "negro" which means black and that's how Europeans simply described Africans. And since an entire capitalist industry and culture of slavery was based on that characteristic, over time it morphed into the racial slur that it came to be...as often happens in language. As a matter of fact the word negus was not used in our origins in West Africa. If you went to Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, etc and said "negus", people would either have no idea what you were saying or mistake you for saying something that sounds similar in their respective languages/dialects. The N-word is what it is...started simply as a descriptive color...morphed into a slur and morphed again into a term of endearment...but some coded term for "king" it certainly isn't. Making this connection is just another example of pseudo-linguistics. Let's see if he really feels this way when a white person calls him the N-word to his face...I'm pretty sure he won't take it as a compliment and likely beat the brakes off them. lol.

You can tell by looking at a person who has black ancestry. A good percentage of Dominicans do and some Puerto Ricans do. If they are fully black that means their ancestors didn't mix. If they are partially black that's means they mixed with the local native populations such as the Tainos, or they mixed with the white Spaniards that ruled over the Carribean Islands (Sugar Plantations). Fidel Castro is a white Cuban Spaniard, Faizon Love is black Cuban, Nicki Minaj is mixed with Taino. Not just New York, but from any hood. It's used as a term of endearment. Everyone in NYC and Philly from the hood use it. My thing is black people pick and choose when they want to be upset about something .

Don't every race do it or you only pay attention when black people does it.

The word needs to be removed from all hip hop songs..past and present. Edits to song titles too..examples… - Negros in Paris (Jay Z and Kanye) - Real Negros (Negros with Attitude) - Made Negros (Tupac and the outlaws) - That negro Daz (Daz)

It’s cultural ..I’m a Latin dude Central America but grew up mostly around blacks, didn’t have a pops n was adopted by this American culture in a sense but I rarely say it in my speech ..I do when I rap though, I study history, play jazz music too..really being involved with a culture is deeper than that word n you can tell the people who say it a lot but don’t care for the plight of the people or even side more with white culture, they out of place but overall if it’s in your culture you gon say it ..if you weren’t directly the descent of the oppressors you shouldn’t be shamed but it should be talked about being it is deep.

As Eazy E said, the n word is part of my everyday language. Hip Hop taught it to me.

Spice 1 twisted it very well 😂😂🏆 He knows very well he has many white fans all over the world so he won't be hating. I love his explanation and philosophy but I don't think it's appropriate for other races to use the word.

I thought the word originated from Spanish, where the color black is "negra" or something close to that. His connection to some ancient Egyptian word is pretty far fetched
@davruck1 Жыл бұрын
@@honeyblunt5150how is it far fetched? Africans came before Europeans. The last people to get on this planet don’t make the rules just because they believe they do. Where do you think Spanish came from? Jesus you’re brainwashed by whites.

A lot of black people do not say the N Word. And if they do, they try not use that word out in the open. As a a matter of fact there are some black people that will say something that if another black person calls them the N Word.

As a southerner this is exactly what is expected from someone who grew up outside the mason dixie, let alone Latin ppl, the N word will never be accepted, the hardest of the hard, street whatever won't ever let that word come out dey mouf' depending on who they around or where they at, there's literally ppl walking around who had to run home before nightfall to keep from being BBQ'd, it's always the blacks who come from the generations who were able to take advantage of the great migration who have been disconnected from the history of the south, it's climate and it's origins who trynna give that word a pass, the N word here (Georgia) is worse than any curse word you wanna say, and any blacks trynna stand up for it's use awl yall exactly what the word means.
