I installed this into a 2.7 Badlands this weekend. Took about 5 hours to disassemble and about 8 to reassemble (very relaxed pace, maybe a few beers involved). Get a Torx plus 45 (TP45) for the driveshaft. The axles slide right in if you manipulate the knuckles correctly with a floor jack. Do NOT pre-install the upper hanger to the FDU or the vehicle before you slide the unit in (it comes in a separate box). You can get to the upper bolts through the fender liner. The inner boots collapse under vacuum when installed and unfortunately you have to vent them to get the boots back to shape, so grab some extra clamps or reuse the originals or at least hose clamps. The driver's side "sta-bar" end (the fancy electric sway bar) contacted the boot at full droop so I pushed the boot back about an inch and plan use a shorter nut and cut the bolt, or maybe add a spacer. (Don’t cut the bolt, it has a female hex in the end and you’ll need that) Get a list of your torque specs before you start if you just can't stand to go by feel. Don't forget new oil. I left the front driveshaft out to have a shop do the rear gears and it drives with no issues, no codes, nothing, even with the gear ratio mismatch.

Was this installed into a Bronco that did or did not have a locking diff to start? In a Black Diamond, that did not come w/front locking diffs, how did you hook it up to a switch?

Anyone know what front bumper that is?

That is incorrect on the M210 stock carrier IF you buy the FORD performance gears. I know. I upgraded my 4.7 to 5.13 directly from ford using Ford Performance provided gears, and my ford dealer installed them.

Having already shredded an M190 I have been waiting for the release of these, any news on when they will be available?

I just broke my M190. I was looking at the M210 but this looks more "fun". I assume your M190 was 4.46 ratio?

so this is the stock unit on a badlands or sased bronco

What needs to be changed in the computer “as built” data; when swapping from the m190 w/front axle disconnect for it to work when you eliminate the “ front axle disconnect” and adding the front locker? Or does ford offer programming? Because dealers refuse to change anything.

I'm in the same boat. Is there a solution for those of us who didn't originally have a locking FDU?

You have to go with the Ford Performance tune, it has an option to switch to a M210 FDU.

I am pretty sure that all mounting points are the same. Will probably just need the half shafts and you will be all set.

@@mattlong8002 I think the biggest concern is related to Franc Fusco's question above. What will the computer "think" and how are you going to control the locking without a pre-installed button?
