You reminded me of my move to Seattle in 1996, when I drove from Florida to Seattle. On Thanksgiving Day, I was driving through California and had been on the road for about 5 or 6 days (I stopped driving whenever it got dark, so it took longer.) I was feeling homesick, and missed my family and friends. To treat myself, I stayed at Railroad Park Resort in Dunsmuir, CA, which is a charming railroad car motel in northern California. Their dining car was closed, but they directed me to a lovely restaurant nearby, where I had a delicious Thanksgiving Day dinner all by myself. And by that time, the sadness and homesickness wore off, and I was thoroughly enjoying my adventure. So here's to you, Mike! Keep going until the fun wears off, just as you said. And thank you for sharing your travels with those of us who will never get the opportunity to go where you go. We love ya!

Hey Mikey. I heard you talking about holidays, and it really resonated with me. I'm a college student in Seattle and my parents live in Korea, so this video made me doubly homesick haha. Holidays and special occasions are pretty rough, because it makes me miss my parents an indescribable amount. Drove a truck from Sacramento to LA for 11 years and I was working on many holidays. The best day to drive is a holiday, because all the other days, people are on the roads and it is jammed pack. Once I was in LA, the day before Thanksgiving and I had to deliver in Inglewood, Burbank and Camarillo. The roads all had heavy traffic and Burbank rejected the load, because I was so late. I finally got to the Budweiser Brewery in Van Nuys and my load was not loaded, so I had to wait for it to load. It was 8:00 at night by the time I was done all I could see on 405 were cars bumper to bumper on both sides. I pulled over, outside of the Brewery and slept, when I awoke the next morning, there was hardly anyone on the roads and I drove back to Sacramento, with very few people on the road.
