Im so glad I stumbled upon your channel brother. I got sober 6 months ago from lots of drugs and alcohol and its been the best decision Ive ever made. Im a musician, touring and performing since I was 14, and just turned 34. So alot of wear and tear on the body. Amongst getting sober Ive been trying to make concious health decisions and been really interested in starting a garden. I came across your channel and your presentation and passion for it has truely inspired me to try my hand at it. I just wanted to extend my graditude. Thank you brother, Ill be watching much more. 5. At that time Iesus went on the Sabbath day through the cornfields, and his disciples were an hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat. 6. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the Sabbath day. 7. And he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungered and they that were with him; how he entered into the house of God and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? 8. Or have yet not read in the law, how that on the Sabbath days the priests in the Temple do work on the Sabbath and are blameless? But I say unto you, That in this place is One greater than the Temple.

My family sells roadside corn with an honour system. One time earlier this year, as my sister and I brought the trailer back from the field an older couple was waiting for us, and saw us each get out of the truck eating a cob of raw corn. They made faces and said, "you just eat it raw like that?!" 😂 I explained the sugar starts turning to starch a few hours after picking, and the biggest reason to cook same-day-fresh corn is for flavour- or for rolling in butter. They could still hardly believe it. My sister also got her boyfriend's dad onto raw corn, he'd had the same reaction until he tried it. It's just corn!! We tell if corn's ready by simply grabbing the top. If it's full all the way up it's good, if the husk is spongy and you can't feel the kernels it's not ready, if it's full part of the way up then stops it's probably ready, the plant just suffered some stress while it was growing the cob.

Does the UK have any rules on heirloom seeds? Here in the United States we had several states that made heirloom illegal to grow. Your garden is very beautiful. I always enjoyed mixing my veggies, herbs and flower beds. Would put my okra as backdrop borders and so on. Have herbs as flower beds for certain pollinators to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. I noticed you had a book in a short is it available for purchase?

Here's an idea that could enhance your ability to grow anything! Tree Fountain (aka Tree of Life) 1- Bore a hole into and up a tree being careful not to bisect the core of the tree. 2- Coat the inside of the hole with beeswax. 3- Put a water basin at the top and a fire pit or fireplace at the bottom. 4- Put copper pipe around the inside of the fire pit or up the chimney for a fireplace. This will act as a pump. (You can also use a hotplate if you prefer) 5- Add water wheels (fidget spinners can be used for some decent mini water wheels) for electricity. 6- Add hanging gardens for fresh produce. 7- Splice other saplings and/or fresh tree cuttings using the tongue and groove method for shelter. This design provides food, filtered and conditioned water and air, electricity, shelter and SO much more! Everything a person needs for life and survival. Hence the "Tree of Life" nickname!

Many people would love to be able to grow their own fruits and veggies, consume natural and delicious food. The problem is that with the overpopulation and limited resources, only some people have access to even tiniest amount of land and even less people are resource independent. Being 'eco-friendly' on a small scale is not a long-term solution for humanity. It might be fun and some individuals can benefit from it but only well-organized, big but reasonable agriculture is the way to go. We should promote buying food from local farmers instead of growing everything individually. The worst thing to do is of course to import our avocados from another part of the world, because it causes pollution, food waste and rainforest degradation. Using locally grown food limits our choices to whatewer grows in this part of the world but I guess not eating avocados etc. is better than ecological disaster.
