On one hand… I hate the idea of Peter having a sidekick because Peter doesn’t do the whole Batman and Robin thing… on the other hand they are making it super interesting with the whole ‘erased from reality and no one remembers you’ thing. Also I’m glad Peter gave Bailey a chance to explain his side of things. I was worried Peter was just going to be a huge jerk to this kid, but thankfully… it seems Peter gained some clarity and kindness again.

I love the idea that Spider Boy isn't just a copy and paste of Spiderman like so many other hero's and their sidekicks. It gives Spider Boy a more unique flare that I can't help but admire. They even gave him a somewhat unique story relative to the Spider People. I will say, I can't help but see the resemblance to Spiderman 2099, but that might be just a coincidence...or is it?

On one hand, Spider-Man should never have a Sidekick, because he was created as the antithesis to sidekicks. He wasn’t given second billing like Robin, he didn’t have to be aged up for his superhero identity like Shazam, and he was called Spider-Man instead of Spider-Lad, Kid Arachnid, etc. And that was a first back then. On the other hand, this might be the only way Marvel Editorial allows Peter to grow up.

Agreed, I have a strong dislike for Spider-boy but if they had introduced him better or if they had restored the marriage? I'd be more open to him. Part of the problem with Spider boy is many people dislike the current status quo for Spidey and there have been some pretty big changes in the last few years that have alienated fans.

My theory bailey was around sometimes after spider Island events madame monstery was trying to recreate the spider hybrid for her evil plan after this event spider man stops her. him and daredevil train bailey and bailey joins team spider as a sidekick. Sometime between superior spider and Peter industry saga he was erase most likely Doc Ock fearing bailey would notice the mind switch upgraded bailey to full hero and on patrol got stab by the knife fighting Shathra cultists to see if it work or when they had an big 616 spider team up to stop Shathra not shown in comics

I kinda like spider boy, yeah i dont think spiderman should have a side kick, feels like his side kick would end up like batmans but with that peter parker luck mixed in. I think they should keep him around only to like grow him up a bit without anything too major, like ease him up to be how they handled miles. Miles started as a kid who wanted to be spiderman when peter was gone and now is tough and experienced enough to tussle with carnage. Itd be cool if they are planning to have spider boy tag along with normie and have like a super sons like duo but for marvel. I think they could tell some good stories with spider boy teaming up with pete and learning his limitations so that we still have solo spiderman.

I think it would have been better to see it from the beginning. See him earn the place as the side kick instead telling us and Spidey how he earned the place as the side kick.

I like the Spider-Boy character, I think he should be a long standing character, but not as a side kick, I think the idea of an even younger spider-man (younger than Miles) fighting crimes in the background or even working as an Oracle would be cool. Comic readers are way to easy to jump on a band wagon of hating a character when character growth and change is the reason comics and other media stay alive to this day

Honestly, this kid is either gonna end up gutted or sent to another dimension. I personally hate the idea, it worked in Ultimate Spiderman, because it was a teen team, but Peter does not do the Batman. He doesn't reform children through crime fighting, he would have used his knowledge of his own transformation, get Connors or Reed and fixed the child. This is absolutely out of character.

I will be cautiously optimistic. It's a new concept for Spider-man And it also help push Miles away from the Sidekick Stigma that fans have been debating for years. Though i do hope "Spider-boy" grows out of the Sidekick phase and becomes his own character and Peter goes solo again. I'm willing to give Spider-boy a chance. Just not so much for him staying as Parker's sidekick.

I posted comments on multiple videos talking about Spider-Boy. I said we should wait until we know more about him before we riot. So far, I’m glad I stood by my principles. To be fair, Spider-Boy doesn’t make a good point about being stabbed by the Totem Dagger. Spider-Woman and Scarlet Spider are both adults and both have been hit with arguably worse than being stabbed and erased from existence. Also there still seems to be some unanswered questions regarding Spider-Boy’s past. Thankfully, from what I learned from reading a Spider-Boy story in Edge of Spider-Verse, I can confirm that Spider-Boy must have been around for about three years in Marvel time. Considering that Peter is about 25, because he’s been around for 10 years as Spider-Man, I believe it is possible that Spider-Boy didn’t come into the picture until roughly the same time Mister Negative was still running FEAST as Martin Lee. That means Bailey’s existence doesn’t even touch Spider-Man stories from about anywhere from Amazing Fantasy to Clone Saga. Maybe even early 2000’s Spider-Man stories as well.

I'm pretty neutral on Bailey so far. He's amusing in a young kid sort of way but not to the point of irritation, nor does he have the stereotypical sidekick stupidity but that may come in time. I don't really mind nor care for a new spider person addition but I'm not really a fan of Peter having a sidekick as his original creation was meant to oppose that ideology. Not to mention there's already been a story about Peter having a sidekick in the form of Alpha and we saw how that went. With that said this is a potential method to have Peter grow up and mature as a character, as in world he's in his late twenties and still has an issue getting a job or a place to live. Him mentoring Bailey or Miles in a more hands on manner is a good method to show Peter's experience. I don't think Bailey will become a household character like Miles and I would prefer for him to be an alternate universe sidekick to another Peter or another person who took up the mantle but overall I'm neutral.

I still get the vibe he's some kind of memory parasite. . . Or he's a reality warper. Or possibly just dimensionally displaced. As in, in HIS universe the *_only_* difference it and 616 is that he exists. Or he's the pawn of some other villain whether he be android, clone, test tube baby, or kidnapee. Alternatively it could just be some variation of the last one where instead, he's genuinely on Peter's side and like someone before me said, when it comes down to it he sacrifices himself even though he was just a pawn or construct. But cliche these days but its also one of those "oldie but goodie" tropes when done well. Though in this case I'd despise it because it would no doubt just be another way for the writers to aggrandize their eternal and senseless torture of Peter Parker. It would be... Interesting if I were wrong on any of those but I know in the ene, at least the very last bit will be true no matter what sadly. . .

With how many times things get retconned, I doubt the Power Pack escapades came into the equation. Even plot devices like the Web of Destiny are used to handwave entire swathes of history. As for Moon Girl, she's a hero on her own volition. With a friggin dinosaur. It's one thing to rope a kid into crime fighting as a sidekick, it's another to butt in on another hero's choices.

Spider-Man himself is something like a semi-sidekick character. Him having a sidekick doesn't fit. But I agree that visiting this concept is interesting. It's the same with Injustice. Interesting concept to visit, but plain wrong representation of the character. But as of now I enjoy Spider-Boy as a character and I hope there will be more....but not as Peters sidekick xD
